Gaza: 699 Days of War Bring Fresh Mass Killings and Famine Deaths
The latest attacks killed at least 53 Palestinians since dawn, according to hospital sources, with dozens more wounded.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Israeli forces continued their U.S.-backed war on the Gaza Strip for the 699th consecutive day on Thursday, conducting intensive air and artillery strikes that targeted residential areas, displacement camps, and aid distribution points.
According to a report from Palinfo, The latest attacks killed at least 53 Palestinians since dawn, according to hospital sources, with dozens more wounded.
Among the dead were 20 people in Gaza City, including victims of a strike on a home near Al-Falah School in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood and others hit in the Al-Tuffah and Al-Shuja’iyya areas.
In central Gaza, four were killed near Al-Bukhari Mosque in Deir al-Balah, while seven members of the Abu al-Eish family — including four children — were killed when their tent in Nuseirat camp was struck.
Strikes also targeted aid seekers north of Gaza, tents near hospitals in Khan Younis, and homes in Rafah and other districts. Several incidents involved multiple fatalities among women and children, including a pregnant woman and her unborn child.
Ambulance and emergency services reported high casualty tolls from strikes near Abu Mazen Square, the Italian Complex, and other crowded civilian locations.
Famine and Humanitarian Collapse Deepen
The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed three additional famine-related deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 370 — including 131 children. Since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine conditions, 92 such deaths have been recorded.
Over two million people remain displaced in dire conditions amid the near-total destruction of infrastructure. Israel has converted limited aid distribution points into so-called “kill zones” since May 27, causing 2,356 deaths and over 17,000 injuries at or near these sites.
Humanitarian agencies have condemned the Israeli- and U.S.-linked “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” as a cover for coercion and lethal targeting under the guise of aid.
Medical and civil defense personnel continue to be targeted, with 1,590 healthcare workers, 123 civil defense members, 245 journalists, and 754 police and aid security personnel killed since the war began.
The government media office reports more than 15,000 documented massacres, including the obliteration of 2,500 entire families from the civil registry.
Destruction on an Unprecedented Scale
According to official and UN sources, Israel’s campaign has destroyed more than 88% of Gaza’s buildings, inflicting over $62 billion in damage. Occupation forces now control approximately 77% of Gaza’s territory through invasion, firepower, and forced displacement.
The bombardment has entirely destroyed 149 schools, universities, and educational institutions, partially damaged 369 more, and obliterated 828 mosques while damaging 167 others.
Nineteen cemeteries have also been hit. The toll on civilian life includes 19,000 children and 14,500 women killed — with the most vulnerable groups suffering the highest rates of targeting.
The Ministry of Health reports that since Israel’s withdrawal from a March 18 ceasefire agreement, 11,699 people have been killed and 49,542 wounded. The ongoing assault, described by Palestinian authorities as genocide, has been marked by systematic attacks on civilians, famine as a weapon of war, and the mass erasure of communities. (PW)
