Fresh Israeli Massacres in Southern Lebanon
Entire family wiped out in Nabatieh as occupation strikes escalate
The Israeli regime has unleashed a new wave of aggression on southern Lebanon, massacring an entire family — women and children among the victims — in its latest violation of the so-called ceasefire.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced that at least seven people, including children, were killed and two others wounded when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) bombed a residential building on the outskirts of the town of Ansar in the Nabatieh district, wiping out a whole family.
In a separate strike on the town of Deir al-Zahrani, also in Nabatieh, at least three civilians were killed and nine others wounded, according to an initial toll from the Ministry.
IOF warplanes carried out eight airstrikes on the Ali al-Taher hill in the same district, while further attacks hit the vicinity of a teachers’ training college, the al-Deir neighbourhood, and the area around a square in the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
The assaults are part of the regime’s continuing violations of the ceasefire agreement. Occupation forces have persisted in shelling villages and hills with artillery, dropping incendiary and stun grenades, launching airstrikes with warplanes and drones, and bulldozing homes.
Hezbollah strongly condemned the escalating aggression and the “brutal” massacre carried out by the IOF on Saturday. The Lebanese resistance movement stressed that the targeting of civilians and the expansion of the attacks expose Benjamin Netanyahu’s intent to escalate the war to boost his domestic standing, serve his electoral interests, and appease his far-right allies.
The movement held the occupying regime’s government and the U.S. administration fully responsible for the continued aggression, the violation of Lebanese sovereignty, and the cover provided for these crimes. It called on the Lebanese authorities to explore every available means to halt the attacks and to stop insisting on “continuing along the humiliating path of direct negotiations and offering the enemy free gifts.”
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the ongoing aggression in the south, particularly in the Nabatieh area, and the regime’s repeated violations of the “framework agreement,” the work of the military coordination group, and international laws protecting civilians — violations that culminated in the killing of an entire family from Ansar.
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam warned that the Israeli escalation is “extremely dangerous and undermines efforts to consolidate stability in the south.”
