In a blatant display of hypocrisy and intolerance for opposing views, the French government has expelled Niloufar Shadmehri, Iran’s cultural attaché in Paris. Her “crime”? Effectively countering the Western, Islamophobic narratives against the Islamic Republic through authentic cultural and artistic exhibitions.
During her tenure in Paris, Shadmehri worked tirelessly to present the true, unfiltered image of Iran. By organising Iranian and Islamic art events, she provided a powerful alternative to the biased and often malicious portrayals of the Islamic Republic peddled by the mainstream Western media.
Shadmehri is well-known for her profound work, Ambassador’s Memoirs (Khaterehat-e Safir), a book chronicling the experiences of a proud Iranian Muslim woman navigating the hostile environment of France. Her steadfastness and cultural contributions had previously attracted the esteemed attention of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Tehran Strikes Back Against French Espionage
The expulsion of Shadmehri comes amid rapidly deteriorating relations between Tehran and Paris, largely driven by France’s hostile posture and blatant interference in Iran’s internal affairs. In a swift and decisive response, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has declared two French diplomats persona non grata, exposing them as intelligence operatives acting contrary to international law and the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The retaliatory move follows a major security incident in July 2026, when Iranian authorities detained the two French operatives after discovering them at a meeting linked to a security investigation. While the French government predictably cried foul and accused Iranian security forces of “mistreatment,” Tehran firmly rejected the baseless claims, clarifying that the individuals were questioned over highly “unconventional” conduct.
Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence later confirmed that the two French spies had “extensive records of violations and conduct contrary to domestic laws and diplomatic obligations.” Once their identities and illicit activities were verified, they were handed over to the Iranian ambassador to France in the presence of diplomatic police.
A Fear of the Truth
France’s decision to target a cultural attaché highlights the deep insecurity of arrogant Western powers when faced with the undeniable truth of the Islamic Resistance. By attempting to silence voices like Shadmehri’s, Paris only exposes its subservience to Zionist agendas and its deep-seated Islamophobia.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to stand firm, dismantling Western espionage networks while proudly carrying the banner of truth and cultural authenticity on the global stage.
