Founder and Secretary-General of Palestinian Mujahideen Movement Martyred in Israeli Strike
The Palestinian Mujahideen Movement confirms the martyrdom of its founder and military leader in Gaza attack; vows continued resistance and retaliation against Israeli crimes.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM – The Palestinian Mujahideen Movement has officially confirmed the martyrdom of its founder and Secretary-General, Sheikh As’ad Atiyah Abu Sharirah (Abu al-Sheikh), in an Israeli bombing that targeted the al-Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City on Saturday.
In its statement, as reported by the Mujahideen Movement’s media office on Saturday night, the movement described Sheikh Abu Sharirah as an Islamic thinker, a mujahid commander, and a pillar of jihad and resistance in Palestine.
He was the founder, Secretary-General, and military commander of the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement and was martyred during the Saturday bombardment.
Multiple Family Members Martyred Alongside the Commander
The statement further revealed that the bombing also led to the martyrdom of Ahmad Atiyah Abu Sharirah (Abu Palestine), the brother of the Secretary-General, a member of the movement’s Central Secretariat, and the head of its Gaza Division. Additionally, dozens of other members of the Abu Sharirah family were also martyred in the same attack.
A Legacy of Resistance: More Than Two Decades of Struggle
The statement declared:
“Today we bid farewell to a great commander who, over the course of a quarter-century, delivered painful blows to the Zionist enemy in numerous battles. He was constantly pursued by the enemy and survived more than five assassination attempts. Yet none of these ordeals deterred him from continuing the path of jihad and resistance.”
The Mujahideen Movement also noted that this great mujahid had already sacrificed five of his brothers before the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.
Since then, more than 150 members of his family—including his wife, children, brothers, sisters, and dozens of relatives—have been martyred.
Builder of a Quranic Generation and Unifier of the Ummah
The statement also highlighted his role in cultivating a generation grounded in the Qur’an and jihad, contributing to numerous operations that inflicted significant blows to the Zionist regime in Gaza, Jerusalem, Jenin, Tulkarm, Bethlehem, Hebron, Be’er al-Sabe’, and Ramleh.
He was remembered as a great Islamic thinker and a constant voice calling for unity of the Ummah and the consolidation of forces to confront the primary enemy of the Muslim nation— the Zionist regime. He ultimately sacrificed his life on this path.
Resistance Will Continue; The Enemy Will Pay a Heavy Price
In conclusion, the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement emphasized that “the blood of this martyr and all the martyrs of Palestine remains a trust upon the shoulders of the resistance fighters, and these cowardly assassinations cannot break the determination and will of the Palestinian people.”
The movement affirmed that the path of jihad and resistance will continue until the restoration of all Palestinian rights and the complete liberation of the land of Palestine. It warned the Zionist enemy that this crime will not go unanswered, and that it will pay a heavy price for this and all of its crimes against the Palestinian people. (PW)
