Former Diplomat: Insulting the Resistance Aims to Destroy Palestinian Social Cohesion
Former Palestinian diplomat Adli Sadeq condemns a viral video humiliating a resistance fighter, warning it serves Israeli efforts to fracture society and crush morale.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Former Fatah leader and Palestinian diplomat Adli Sadeq strongly condemned a video circulating on social media that shows collaborator with the occupation Ghassan al-Dehini standing beside Qassam commander Adham al-Akkar, who is seated on the ground after being stripped of his clothes, while threats are directed at the Palestinian resistance.
In a post on his Facebook account, Sadeq described the scene as a “despicable act that reflects the nature of a cowardly enemy.”
He said allowing a collaborator to stand boastfully over a resistance fighter who has been stripped and subjected to insults and threats carries extremely dangerous political and security implications.
“Black Messages” to Break Morale and Fragment Society
Sadeq added that the scene reflects the occupation’s determination to broadcast “black messages” to Palestinians, in an attempt to break their morale, shatter their social fabric, and manufacture a false image of the war’s end—one that “contradicts the course of history, which stands with oppressed peoples.”
He noted that the footage does not achieve the occupation’s objectives. On the contrary, it deepens Palestinians’ rejection of collaborators in all their forms and strengthens popular opposition to those who, at this time, focus on criminalizing the resistance while absolving the occupation.
Sadeq argued that such stances do not represent “different political opinions,” but rather reflect a state of foolishness driven by the desire to gain the occupier’s approval, along with a detachment from the public mood and national values.
The former Fatah leader stressed that attempts by some individuals to hide behind claims of affiliation with Fatah, or to promote themselves as holders of a “different opinion,” do not alter their reality. He described their discourse as dangerous, detached from humanitarian and national values, and bearing no relation to Palestinian factions known for their struggle-based principles.
He further pointed out that gloating over resistance fighters at this moment exposes, in his words, the true positions and moral and political motives of those engaging in such behavior.
Sadeq concluded by affirming that the fate of collaborators with the occupation—no matter how loud their voices or how prolonged their media presence—will ultimately be disappearance. He emphasized that the Palestinian people have endured harsh phases and successive catastrophes, yet each time have emerged stronger and more firmly committed to their right to struggle for independence.
It is worth noting that Adli Sadeq currently holds no official position within the Fatah movement or the Palestinian Authority, and his statements reflect his personal views outside formal organizational frameworks on a number of current national issues. (PW)
