Farewell and Funeral Procession for Martyred Leader to Be Held After First Ten Days of Muharram

Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Organizing Committee for the Commemoration of the Blood-Soaked Ascension of the Martyred Imam Mujahid, Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, announced that the farewell ceremony, funeral procession, and burial of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution will be held after the first ten days of Muharram.
In its second official statement released on Tuesday, the committee said rumors and speculation circulating in domestic and foreign media regarding the timing and details of the ceremonies are without credibility.
The committee stated that extensive preparations are underway for the farewell, funeral procession, and burial of Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, as well as the martyrs from the family of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
According to the statement, unofficial reports have caused confusion among many people intending to participate in the historic event.
Ceremonies Delayed Out of Respect for Muharram
The committee said the decision was made in light of the martyred Leader’s lifelong commitment to preserving and honoring the mourning ceremonies of Imam Husain (as) during Muharram.
It added that the importance of Muharram commemorations across Iran and throughout the world was also taken into consideration when scheduling the ceremonies.
According to the statement, the farewell, funeral procession, and burial of the martyred Leader will take place after the first ten days of Muharram.
Final Arrangements Underway
The committee stated that the additional time will allow responsible institutions and volunteer groups to complete final coordination efforts and provide appropriate services for mourners expected to attend the ceremonies.
It added that further details regarding the timing and arrangements of the event will be announced at an appropriate time.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
In view of the extensive planning undertaken for the dignified farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremonies of the Martyred Imam Mujahid, Grand Ayatullah Khamenei (may Allah sanctify his pure soul), as well as the martyrs from the family of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, it is hereby announced that the speculation and rumors circulating in domestic and foreign media regarding the timing and details of these ceremonies, which have caused uncertainty among many people wishing to attend this great event, are without validity.
In consideration of the practice and tradition of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution (may his noble station be exalted) in commemorating the mourning of the Master and Chief of Martyrs, Imam Aba Abdillah al-Husain (peace be upon him), and given the importance of the mourning ceremonies held during these days throughout Iran and across the world, the farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremonies of that unique figure of the age will be held after the first ten days of Muharram, following the completion of final coordination by the responsible institutions and popular groups to provide proper services to the mourning public.
The details of these ceremonies will be announced by this committee at an appropriate time.
