Families of Israeli Captives Accuse Netanyahu of Sabotaging Talks
During their weekly sit-in outside the Israeli Ministry of War, families of prisoners accused Netanyahu of blocking past talks and urged him not to sabotage current efforts
Occupied Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - In their weekly sit-in outside Israel's Ministry of War on Begin Street in the Kirya area, families of Israeli captives, joined by a large number of demonstrators, directly blamed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the failure of previous negotiations.
They called on him not to repeat the same mistakes and to allow the current talks to reach a comprehensive agreement.
According to the Hebrew department of Tasnim News Agency, Hebrew-language media reported that protestors identified Netanyahu as the primary obstacle to past agreements and demanded a serious effort toward concluding a deal that would end the war and bring all captives home.
Pleas from Parents: “Stop Ruining Every Opportunity”
The mother of one captive stated during her speech: “Netanyahu is the main saboteur. I ask him not to prolong the talks this time. Pursue a comprehensive deal that ends the war.”
The father of another captive addressed Israeli officials, asking: “Isn’t it enough already—this repeated sabotage and collapse of agreements?”
He explained that one of his sons had been released in previous deals, while another remains in captivity. Addressing Netanyahu directly, he said: “You’ve caused me the worst pain. You separated my son Eitan from his brother Yair. They could have returned together, but you chose to wreck the deal. Now you're weighing options and undermining the current negotiations.”
He further urged: “Ignore statements from Ben Gvir and Smotrich. Stop the backroom politics and secret agendas. Israeli society doesn’t want to send the captives to their deaths. Stop ruining every agreement and wasting opportunities.”
Protestors March to U.S. Embassy, Plead for International Pressure
The father concluded his statement by saying: “You’ve brought us to the point where we have to beg the President of the United States to help free Israeli captives after 652 days of captivity. The time has come to take serious action for the sake of the 50 captives.”
Meanwhile, several protestors critical of Netanyahu's policies marched from the Hostages’ Square in Tel Aviv to the U.S. Embassy, demanding the return of all captives without delay. (PW)
