Syria - In a blatant display of subservience to imperialist agendas, figures affiliated with Abu Mohammed al-Jolani’s US-backed administration are actively appearing on Zionist media platforms to beg for normalisation with the occupying entity.
According to reports detailed by Al-Akhbar, mercenaries and activists linked to the Jolani regime are conducting a coordinated media offensive on Hebrew networks. Their goal is to pave the way for a “warm normalisation” and a US-brokered security agreement with Tel Aviv, completely disregarding the decades of Syrian blood spilt in the defence of Palestine and the Arab world.
Appeasing the Occupier
The normalisation push is being spearheaded by several individuals who are eagerly pandering to Zionist audiences. Among them is Maysaa Qabbani, a Syrian-American activist and vice-chair of the “Global Justice” organisation, who recently appeared on the Zionist “Makan” network. In a deeply troubling display of defeatism, Qabbani urged the Zionist regime not to consider Syria an enemy, asking, “Why should we not convey our voice to the people of Israel?”
Shamefully ignoring the brutal expansion of the Zionist military presence in southern Syria—including the seizure of water resources and the establishment of illegal military bases in Sweida—Qabbani celebrated the absence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hezbollah from the “new Syria.” She arrogantly suggested the occupying regime should be pleased with this development, completely evading questions regarding the actual stance of the Syrian public, who vehemently reject any peace with the usurpers of Palestine.
Similarly, Fahd al-Masri, head of the so-called “Free Syria” party, told the Hebrew newspaper Israel Hayom that forming an inclusive government in Damascus depends on reaching an agreement with the Zionist entity.
American-Zionist Networks Exposed
The roots of these normalisation efforts run deep into the American political establishment. The “Global Justice” organisation, which Qabbani represents, has deep ties to Zionist lobbying networks in Washington. Among its members is Abi Shahbandar, a former Pentagon adviser who previously facilitated the flow of American weapons and medical aid to “moderate” terrorist factions during the Syrian crisis. Shahbandar was also a regular contributor to The Tower, a magazine published by the notorious pro-Zionist propaganda outlet “The Israel Project.”
This exposes the reality that the Jolani government’s media manoeuvres are not an organic Syrian sentiment, but rather a dictated script from Washington and Tel Aviv aimed at rebranding the Zionist entity in the Arab world.
The “New Syria” is a Zionist Fantasy
Going beyond mere interviews, some propagandists have taken direct steps to court the enemy. Ghassan Ibrahim, a Syrian journalist, recently launched a Hebrew-language version of his “Syria Focus” website. Speaking to the Zionist “Kan” network, he delivered a clear message to the occupiers: “The new Syria is not Gaza; it is not Hamas or Hezbollah or Iran either.”
This rhetoric is a desperate attempt to appease the occupying forces and distance the new Syrian administration from the victorious Axis of Resistance. However, it merely highlights the ideological bankruptcy of the Jolani factions, who have traded Syria’s historic role as the beating heart of Arab resistance for the hollow promises of American and Zionist masters.
As the Zionist entity continues its daily atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza and its illegal encroachments on Syrian soil, these media appearances serve as a stark reminder of the treacherous nature of the current Damascus administration. Yet, the true voice of Syria remains unbroken, forever aligned with the steadfastness of the Axis of Resistance.
