European Leaders Demand Immediate End to Gaza Siege
Seven European Nations Urge Israel to Cease Military Operations and Allow Humanitarian Aid

Europe, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Leaders from seven European countries have jointly called for an immediate end to the ongoing siege of Gaza, urging the Israeli government to halt its military operations, permit the entry of humanitarian aid, and return to ceasefire negotiations.
In a statement released on Friday, the heads of state from Iceland, Luxembourg, Spain, Slovenia, Malta, and Norway emphasised the urgent need to lift the blockade on Gaza. They called on Israel to allow international humanitarian organizations access to the region and to resume indirect talks with Hamas aimed at achieving a ceasefire.
The leaders warned that without swift action, thousands of Palestinians could die from hunger in the coming days and weeks.
“We will not be silent in front of the man-made humanitarian catastrophe that is taking place before our eyes in Gaza,” the statement read.
According to the European leaders, more than 50,000 men, women, and children have already lost their lives in the conflict. They stressed the importance of supporting the United Nations and humanitarian organizations, such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), and ensuring their safe access to Gaza.
Backing the immediate resumption of ceasefire talks, the leaders said this process could lay the groundwork for a sustainable and inclusive peace. They also reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and expressed their commitment to finding a peaceful solution within the framework of the United Nations, in cooperation with Arab and Islamic countries.
The statement also condemned the rising tensions in the West Bank and the expansion of illegal settlements, warning that the forced displacement of Palestinians is unacceptable and violates international law.
The Israeli military campaign against Gaza began on October 7, 2023, resulting in over 53,000 deaths and nearly 120,000 injuries. Since March 2, 2025, Gaza has been under a full blockade for 74 days, further worsening the humanitarian crisis. (PW)
