Meanwhile, the Pentagon is quietly preparing for a permanent quagmire. US War Secretary Pete Hegseth has already extended troop deployments in West Asia deep into 2027. Furthermore, the Pentagon plans to keep its air defence units and a contingent of roughly 50,000 occupation troops stationed across the Persian Gulf indefinitely.
From Military Failure to Economic Siege
Recognising its total failure to achieve a military breakthrough against the Axis of Resistance, the Trump administration has pivoted to a strategy of pure desperation: a suffocating long-term economic siege. Under the banner of “Operation Economic Outcast,” Washington has coupled its illegal naval blockade with sweeping sanctions in a bid to starve the Iranian state into submission.
But the steadfastness (Sumud) of the Iranian people and the strategic depth of the Islamic Republic cannot be broken by blockades.
