Spot-on reporting about how isolated incidents can quickly escalate into broader narratives about national division. The way this piece documents the timeline from specific confrontations to Musk's sweeping claim is instructive because it showshow quickly sentiment can shift from localized anger to existential crisis. I wonder if part of what intensifies these debates is that social media amplifies extreme takes before more nuanced views get traction.

Elon Musk might like the idea of a civil war, for then he could play one side off against the other and profit from both. The truth is he senses that the US has entered revolutionary times, and if a revolution occurs, he could literally lose everything.

Far better to have a civil war than a revolutionary one for Musk.
