Ambassador Cong Peiwu Highlights Multilateralism, Inclusive Economy, and Shared Vision for Global Cooperation Instead
China, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Chinese Ambassador to Tehran, Cong Peiwu, stated that China consistently opposes unilateral sanctions, including those imposed on Iran, and considers normal cooperation between countries within the framework of international law to be “fair and reasonable.”
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Monday, the ambassador said China is willing to work with Iran to implement the understandings reached between the leaders of both nations and enhance mutual cooperation “for the well-being of both nations.”
Cong Peiwu emphasized that unilateralism has intensified in today’s international community. He noted that certain countries, such as the United States, not only “build walls” but also “cut cooperation chains.”
The ambassador said China believes the world needs “a spirit of multilateralism and an inclusive economy,” stressing that recent global developments have underscored the growing demand for multilateralism and the formation of a multipolar international order.
Shared Vision with Iran
Cong Peiwu said Iran also supports multilateralism, adding that both Tehran and Beijing hope to build a fair international order and share common positions in this regard.
Regarding China’s foreign policy, the ambassador highlighted the goal of building “a community with a shared future for mankind.”
He reaffirmed that China will continue to uphold an open policy and cooperate with other countries, including Iran.
