WASHINGTON — In a glaring admission that its military campaigns have failed to achieve their stated objectives, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced a $20 million bounty on Thursday for information regarding Iran’s nuclear program, just months after Washington and Tel Aviv claimed to have completely “obliterated” the country’s nuclear infrastructure.
Through the State Department’s “Rewards for Justice” program, CENTCOM took to X on 6 November to solicit “any information, tips, or leads” about Iran’s nuclear facilities, equipment, and associated scientific personnel. The US is even offering possible relocation to informants, a desperate measure that exposes the hollowness of repeated American and Israeli assertions that Tehran’s nuclear advancements were erased by airstrikes.
The US State Department attempted to justify the exorbitant reward by citing Tehran’s non-compliance with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and a 2025 report indicating Iran is enriching uranium to 60 percent—well below the 90 percent weapons-grade threshold, yet framed as a threat by Washington. The agency admitted it has lost track of certain Iranian centrifuges.
The Illusion of “Total Destruction”
The bounty stands in stark contrast to the triumphant rhetoric emanating from the White House. However, international watchdogs and leaked US intelligence assessments paint a very different picture.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi recently reiterated that a nuclear program “cannot be erased by military operations.” Furthermore, the IAEA has consistently maintained that there is no evidence of an ongoing, structured Iranian effort to manufacture a nuclear weapon.
Leaked US intelligence assessments following earlier bombardments reveal that deep underground Iranian facilities, such as the Fordow enrichment plant, survived structurally intact. More importantly, Tehran has successfully retained control over its elite scientific network and its vital fissile material stockpiles.
Trump’s Contradictory Boasts and Escalatory Threats
US President Donald Trump, who recently credited the US and Israeli military assaults on Iran with the survival of the Zionist regime—claiming, “If we didn’t hit Iran, you wouldn’t have Israel today”—has continued to boast of military dominance.
Trump has touted the enforcement of “the greatest blockade in military history,” falsely claiming the destruction of the Iranian Navy and the neutralisation of its air defences “within minutes.” Yet, in the same breath, the US President has baselessly claimed that Washington is making “a lot of progress” in negotiations with Tehran.
Despite these claims of success, American desperation is evident. Earlier this week, Trump indicated he still intends to “take care” of remaining targets, specifically singling out a suspected nuclear site in central Iran known as Kuh-e Kolang Gaza La (Pickaxe Mountain)—a facility Tehran firmly denies has any nuclear military function.
Adding to regional tensions, US journalist Tucker Carlson recently warned that Trump, acting under intense pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, may be mere days away from launching a tactical nuclear strike on Pickaxe Mountain, based on unverified Israeli intelligence claims that Iran has restarted enrichment there.
Iran Remains Defiant
While Washington scrambles for intelligence and toys with catastrophic escalations, the Islamic Republic of Iran maintains a posture of absolute strategic patience and defiance.
Tehran has made it unequivocally clear that it will not reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz or engage in any nuclear negotiations until its seven non-negotiable conditions are met. These demands include a complete cessation of hostilities across the region, an end to US military pressure, the immediate lifting of the naval blockade, the release of frozen Iranian assets, comprehensive sanctions relief, and the total withdrawal of US military forces from the region.
The $20 million bounty is not a sign of strength, but a stark admission of American and Zionist failure in their campaign to disarm the Islamic Republic.
