Ceasefire Violations Continue as Israeli Artillery Fire and Gunfire Hit Eastern Gaza
Occupation forces shell multiple areas, open fire near Khan Younis, Rafah, Gaza City, and Jabalia, leaving hundreds of Palestinians killed or wounded since October
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Israeli occupation forces continued their systematic violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, carrying out artillery shelling, live gunfire, and the destruction of civilian homes across multiple eastern areas of the enclave.
According to local sources, Israeli artillery targeted the northern outskirts of Gaza, while military vehicles opened fire southeast of Khan Younis in the south.
Israeli forces also fired near the Morag Axis, north of Rafah, and opened fire east of Gaza City, coinciding with artillery bombardment east of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip.
Repeated Breaches of Ceasefire Agreement
“Israel” continues to violate the ceasefire agreement it signed with the Hamas, despite commitments to halt hostilities.
Since October of last year, Israeli ceasefire violations have resulted in the martyrdom of 393 Palestinians and injuries to 1,074 others, according to documented figures.
The ceasefire had brought to an end a war of extermination launched by “Israel” on 8 October 2023, which lasted for two years and inflicted catastrophic human and material losses on Gaza.
The aggression resulted in the killing of more than 70,000 Palestinians, the wounding of over 171,000, and widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure.
The United Nations has estimated the cost of reconstructing Gaza at approximately $70 billion, underscoring the scale of devastation inflicted on the besieged territory. (PW)
