Biden Assault Accuser Granted Russian Citizenship
Former Senate aide who accused Joe Biden of sexual assault in 1993 becomes a Russian citizen under decree signed by President Vladimir Putin
Russia, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Russian President Vladimir Putin has granted citizenship to Tara Reade, also known as Alexandra Tara McCabe.
The corresponding decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin has already been published.
"To accept the following persons as citizens of the Russian Federation: ...McCabe, Alexandra Tara, born February 26, 1964 in the United States of America," the decree says.
This step concludes a process that began when Reade announced in 2023 that she would seek Russian nationality. The publication of the decree makes her status as a Russian citizen legally binding.
Allegations Against Biden
Reade worked as an aide to then-Senator Joe Biden from Delaware in the early 1990s. In the spring of 2020, during Biden’s presidential campaign, she publicly accused him of sexually assaulting her in a corridor at the U.S. Congress in 1993. Biden categorically denied the accusation.
Her claim brought renewed scrutiny to Biden’s political record at a time when he was campaigning against then-President Donald Trump. Media outlets reported on inconsistencies in her account, noting that no official record of the complaint she said she filed in Congress was ever located. Reade said that after going public, she “lost everything,” including her job.
In May 2023, Reade appeared in an interview with Russian state media Sputnik, where she stated her intention to seek a Russian passport.
Speaking from Moscow, she declared that she had decided to remain in Russia, adding: “I feel safe here.” (PW)
