Bennett: Israel Still Reeling from the Defeat of October 7
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett says the repercussions of Al-Aqsa Flood continue to shake the Zionist regime, exposing military failures and paving the way for a major political upheaval
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has acknowledged that the Zionist regime remains deeply affected by the defeat it suffered during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023, warning that the consequences could trigger a major political transformation within the occupied territories.
Speaking at a joint political event with opposition leader Yair Lapid, Bennett described what he called the “2023 defeat” as a turning point whose impact extends far beyond the security sphere.
“Just as the October 1973 war led to a historic political shift, the events of 2023 will produce a similar transformation,” Bennett said.
Bennett Blames Netanyahu for the Security Collapse
Bennett directly held Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government responsible for the security collapse of October 7.
According to Bennett, Netanyahu has failed to learn any lessons from the attack and continues to govern using the same strategic assumptions that led to the catastrophe.
He said the continuation of the war has only deepened the regime’s military weaknesses and highlighted serious manpower shortages within the Israeli occupation army.
War Exposes Exhaustion and Strategic Failure
Bennett noted that Zionist forces have repeatedly returned to the same areas in the Gaza Strip without achieving their declared military objectives.
The repeated redeployments, he said, reveal the growing operational exhaustion of the occupation army and the inability of the regime to secure decisive results on the battlefield.
The Zionist regime faces escalating political turmoil and increasing speculation over the possible dissolution of the Knesset and the prospect of early elections. (PW)
