Ben-Gvir Advances Extreme Plan for a “Crocodile-Fenced” Security Prison
Israeli Prison Service Examines Unprecedented Proposal Reported by Channel 13
Occupied Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Channel 13 reported that the Israel Prison Service is examining a request by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to construct a new high-security prison surrounded by water-filled moats and crocodiles.
According to Channel 13, citing a security source, the Prison Service is reviewing what it described as an “unconventional” plan to establish a security facility encircled by trenches of water and crocodiles as part of its perimeter defenses.
Proposal Raised in Security Assessment Meeting
The report said the proposal was raised following what it described as a shameless suggestion by Ben-Gvir during a security assessment meeting with Kobi Yaakobi, head of the Israel Prison Service.
Under the plan, the prison would reportedly be built near the Hamat Gader area in the occupied territories. The stated objective is to prevent the escape of so-called “security prisoners” while reducing reliance on human personnel and conventional security measures.
Hebrew sources characterized the use of water-filled moats and crocodiles as part of detention infrastructure as an unprecedented measure.
Still Under Review, Sparks Internal Controversy
Channel 13 emphasized that the proposal remains at a preliminary review stage and that no final operational decision has been taken to proceed with construction. Nevertheless, the plan has already provoked controversy within Israel’s security and prison institutions.
The report noted that disagreements have emerged even among officials themselves regarding the feasibility, implications, and consequences of implementing such an extreme and dehumanizing detention concept. (PW)
