Ayatollah Khamenei Warns: More Dangerous Than a US Warship Is the Weapon That Sinks It
Ayatollah Khamenei says Iran crushed war and sedition plots, warns US and Israel of decisive deterrence, affirms national unity, sovereignty, and resistance.
Iran | PUREWILAYAH.COM — Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, issued a blunt warning to the United States on Tuesday morning, stating that Washington’s repeated boasts about deploying warships toward Iran conceal a deeper strategic reality.
“They keep saying, ‘We sent a warship toward Iran.’ A warship is indeed dangerous,” he said.
“But more dangerous than the warship is the weapon that can send it to the depths of the sea.”
Speaking before a large and enthusiastic gathering of thousands of people from Tabriz and East Azerbaijan Province, Ayatollah Khamenei described the current year as an unusual and eventful one, marked by decisive victories and the living vitality of the Iranian nation.
He pointed to several major developments as clear signs of national strength: the victory of the nation in the 12-day war, the crushing defeat of a serious and dangerous sedition in mid-Dey, and the massive popular presence in two historic marches on 22 Dey and 22 Bahman.

National Strength and Living Vitality of the Iranian People
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the importance of preserving and strengthening national readiness, vigilance, and unity, emphasizing that these elements have repeatedly frustrated enemy plots.
“The Iranian nation knows its Islamic and Shi‘a teachings well. It knows exactly what it must do,” he said.
He noted that, except for the ringleaders and corrupt elements directly linked to foreign enemies, all those who lost their lives during the unrest are regarded as “our own children.”
Victims of Unrest Regarded as the Nation’s Own Children
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the Islamic Republic mourns all victims of the disturbances, including security forces defending public order, innocent bystanders, and even those who were deceived and drawn into the sedition due to simplicity or anger.
“They too are from us; they are our children,” he said.
“We are grieving and in mourning for all of them, and we ask God for mercy and forgiveness for them.”
He underlined a moral and humane distinction between the masterminds of chaos and those who were misled.
Warning to the United States: Threats Will Backfire
In another part of his remarks, Ayatullah Khamenei referred to reckless interference and arrogant threats by US officials and hostile American media outlets regarding a possible attack on Iran.
“Despite threatening war, the Americans themselves know that because of their political and economic problems, and their damaged prestige and international credibility, they do not have the capacity to bear the consequences of such actions,” he said.
He warned that even an army claiming to be the strongest in the world could suffer a blow so severe that it would be unable to recover.
“The strongest military in the world can sometimes receive such a slap that it cannot even stand back up,” he said.
The Dey Sedition Was a Planned Coup
Referring to the events of mid-Dey, the Leader stressed that what occurred was not a spontaneous outburst by angry individuals, but a carefully planned coup that was crushed under the feet of the Iranian nation.
“What happened was not simply unrest by angry young or old people,” he said.
“It was a planned coup that was defeated by the people of Iran.”
He said US and Zionist intelligence services, assisted by intelligence agencies of certain other countries, had recruited, trained, armed, and financed violent elements abroad before sending them into Iran to attack military and government centers.
ISIS-Style Violence and the Failure of the Plot
Ayatullah Khamenei added that trained elements manipulated inexperienced individuals while themselves entering the field with weapons and extreme brutality.
“They burned, they killed, and they destroyed,” he said.
“They acted with a level of violence similar to Daesh.”
He emphasized that the objective was to destabilize the Islamic system, but the plan failed.
According to the Leader, law enforcement forces, the Basij, the IRGC, and large segments of the population stood firm against the unrest, leading to the clear defeat of the coup despite extensive preparation and heavy financial backing.
He described the massive marches on 22 Dey and 22 Bahman as “divine signs.”
“A nation capable of defeating such conspiracies must preserve this success through readiness, vigilance, and national unity,” he said.
US Decline and the Illusion of Dominance
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to America’s deep economic, political, and social crises as indicators of the decline of the US empire.
“America’s problem with us is that it wants to swallow Iran,” he said.
“But the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic stand in the way of that objective.”
He rejected US interference in Iran’s missile program and peaceful nuclear activities, calling such demands irrational and illegitimate.
“This matter belongs to the Iranian nation,” he said.
“It has nothing to do with you.”
Resistance Rooted in Faith and History
Recalling the historic declaration of Imam Husain (peace be upon him), Ayatullah Khamenei emphasized the ideological roots of Iran’s resistance.
“Someone like me does not pledge allegiance to someone like Yazid,” he said.
“And the Iranian nation says the same.”
He also referred to the exposure of shocking corruption linked to a “notorious island” scandal as revealing the true nature of Western civilization and liberal democracy.
“What we heard before about the corruption of Western leaders is one thing,” he said.
“The case of this island is something else entirely.”
Call for Economic Action and Public Reassurance
Concluding his remarks, Ayatullah Khamenei urged officials to intensify efforts to address economic challenges, curb inflation, and stabilize the national currency.
He reassured the public that Iran’s defensive institutions are fully prepared to neutralize threats.
“If there is a threat, there are also institutions capable of neutralizing that threat,” he said.
“People should continue their lives with calmness and confidence.”
He expressed hope that God would grant tranquility and confidence to the people and enable officials to fulfill their responsibilities effectively. (PW)
