Ayatollah Khamenei: US President Personally Led Sedition, Iran to Hold All Perpetrators Accountable
Leader Says Washington Planned the Unrest and Incited Violence in a Failed Bid to Restore American Control
Iran | PUREWILAYAH.COM — Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei has accused the United States and its president, Donald Trump, of directly planning, leading, and inciting the recent sedition targeting Iran, describing it as part of Washington’s long-standing effort to reimpose domination over the country.
Addressing thousands of people from various segments of Iranian society on Saturday, Ayatollah Khamenei said the unrest was not spontaneous or domestic in nature, but a foreign-driven operation openly orchestrated by the United States.
“First of all, the nature of this sedition was American—this was clear. The Americans planned it and carried it out,” he said.
Washington’s Objective: Restoring Control Over Iran
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that America’s goal has remained unchanged since the victory of the Islamic Revolution: regaining the political, military, and economic dominance it lost when the Iranian people overthrew US-backed rule.
“America’s goal—based on over forty years of experience in the Islamic Republic—is to devour Iran,” the Leader said.
“From day one, they have been thinking about restoring that dominance, meaning placing Iran once again under their military, political, and economic control.”
He emphasized that this agenda is not tied to any single US president, but represents a permanent American policy toward Iran.
“This is not about the current US president or the one who came before him. This is about US policy,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
Trump’s Direct Role in Incitement and Violence
The Leader said what distinguished the recent unrest from previous attempts was the direct and personal involvement of the US president himself, who openly encouraged violence and destruction under the false claim of supporting the Iranian people.
“What distinguished this unrest was that the President of the United States himself—personally—entered into incitement and plunder,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
“He spoke, threatened, encouraged the rioters, and sent messages telling them: ‘Move forward, do not be afraid. We support you; we will provide military support.’”
He described Trump’s portrayal of rioters involved in arson, destruction, and killings as representatives of the Iranian people as a grave slander and a crime.
“This was a great slander against the Iranian nation. These are crimes,” the Leader said, adding that Iran possesses documented evidence of American and Zionist assistance to those involved.
Iranian Nation Defeats US-Led Sedition
Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Iranian people for defeating the sedition through massive public mobilization, saying millions of Iranians turned January 12 into a historic day comparable to the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
“The Iranian nation broke the back of the sedition,” he said.
“The people, with several million in Tehran and large crowds in many other cities, delivered a strong punch to the mouths of the pretenders.”
He said this marked yet another defeat for American plots against Iran.
“The Iranian nation defeated America—by God’s grace,” Ayatollah Khamenei declared.
Accountability for US-Backed Crimes
While stressing that Iran does not seek war, Ayatollah Khamenei insisted that extinguishing the sedition alone is insufficient and that those responsible must be held accountable.
“We are not taking the country toward war,” he said.
“But we will not ignore domestic criminals, and worse than them are international criminals—we will not let them go either.”
He called on Iran’s institutions, including the Foreign Ministry, to pursue accountability through lawful and appropriate means.
Unity as the Shield Against Foreign Plots
Ayatollah Khamenei concluded by emphasizing national unity as Iran’s most powerful defense against foreign aggression and destabilization.
“We must all be one—together—in defense of Iran, our beloved Iran,” he said.
“As long as unity is preserved, these foreign plots will continue to fail.” (PW)
