Ayatollah Khamenei Directly Commanded Iran’s Military Response, Rezaei Confirms
In an unprecedented move, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution personally oversaw operations during the confrontation with Israel—marking a historic shift in Iran’s command structure.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - In a powerful statement delivered during a memorial for the “Martyrs of Power,” Mohsen Rezaei, senior Iranian official and member of the Expediency Council, revealed that the recent Iranian military response to Israeli aggression was personally commanded by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Armed Forces.
“For the first time, the Leader did not merely oversee the operation—he directly led it,” Rezaei declared.
“In this war, Ayatollah Khamenei himself issued orders and guided both the Army and the IRGC on the battlefield.”
Rezaei added that while senior military figures such as Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi and the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters assisted, the central decisions and directives came straight from the Supreme Leader.
“He did not stand as a spectator—he personally managed and steered the entire course of the operation,” he emphasized.
A Strategic and Moral Message
Rezaei framed this move as deeply symbolic: not only of Iran’s military resolve, but of the seriousness with which the Leader views national sovereignty and deterrence.
“This wasn’t just a show of strength,” Rezaei said. “It was a demonstration of principled leadership at the highest level.”
Commenting on Iran’s military operations, Rezaei explained that the first wave of attacks was conducted with calculated restraint.
“Our strikes were focused, precise, and targeted military and command centers,” he said.
“But should Israel attack again, our response will be far more intense and expansive.”
IAEA Suspension: The Minimum Response
Rezaei also noted that Iran’s suspension of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was a measured but firm reply to recent hostilities.
“It was the least we could do,” he said. “We acted with political dignity, though we had the capacity for much more severe action.”
He dismissed calls for diplomacy at this stage, saying, “Now is not the time for negotiations. Our diplomacy is courageous and rational—but must always serve national interest with wisdom and strategy.”
Rezaei concluded by underscoring the broader implications:
“Trump has finally felt the force of our deterrence after 70 years. Israel is suffering a major blow and is sinking into deep crisis. Even with U.S. support, it has faced defeat.” (PW)
