Ayatollah Khamenei Attends Qur’an Recitation Gathering on First Day of Ramadan

Tehran | PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, attended a Qur’an recitation gathering on Thursday, marking the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in Iran.
The gathering was held Thursday afternoon at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Hussainiya in Tehran and was attended by a number of distinguished domestic and international scholars and renowned reciters of the Holy Qur’an.
During the event, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the high quality and strong standard of the Qur’anic recitations presented.




Moon Sighting Confirms Start of Ramadan in Iran
Iran’s Moon Sighting (Estehlal) Headquarters announced on Wednesday evening that the Ramadan crescent had been sighted, confirming Thursday as the first day of the fasting month in the country. The Estehlal Headquarters operates under the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
While the holy month of Ramadan began on Wednesday in some Muslim countries, others, including Iran and Iraq, declared Thursday as its official start following confirmed moon sightings.
Muslims observe Ramadan through fasting from dawn to dusk, alongside increased acts of worship, charity, and communal prayers throughout the blessed month. (PW)
