MANAMA — Prominent Bahraini cleric and spiritual leader of the Shia community, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, has issued a resounding message to the Islamic and Arab Ummah, calling for an immediate revival of unity to confront the existential threats posed by the American-Zionist axis.
In a strongly worded statement released on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Ayatollah Qassim addressed the current geopolitical state of the Muslim world. He issued a dire warning to Arab and Islamic nations that have allowed themselves to be transformed into tools of the enemy, urging the strengthening of ranks to protect the Ummah’s identity, independence, and dignity.
The senior cleric sharply criticised regional governments that have surrendered to Western hegemony or aligned themselves with Washington and Tel Aviv. He accused these regimes of active complicity in the destruction of their own people’s pride and existence.
“When you have destroyed the fortress of your unity, surrendered to the conspiracies of Satan and the enemies, and fallen under the influence of misleading desires, what are you waiting for?” Ayatollah Qassim asked in his address. “You have turned into weak, scattered groups and hostile factions.”
Highlighting the severe consequences of internal division, Ayatollah Qassim noted that many regional governments are actively aiding America and Israel in dismantling what remains of Arab and Islamic sovereignty. He urged these nations to urgently return to the power of a single, united front to save themselves from the devastating dangers they currently face—dangers he described as far greater than they imagine.
The Ayatollah warned that continued subservience and division will only lead to further humiliation, shame, and ultimate collapse.
Concluding his address, Ayatollah Qassim reiterated that Islamic unity is not merely a political option, but an absolute necessity for survival and resistance. He described a cohesive, unified Ummah as “the shield, the way out, and the gateway to liberation, salvation, glory, victory, support, and success.”
