Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - "Martyrdom in the path of the Supreme Leader is indeed martyrdom in the ranks of the Imam of the Age, as the guardianship of the jurist (Wilayat al-Faqih) is a continuation of the guardianship of the Infallible Imams, and their directives are extensions of the commands of the Imam of the Age," affirmed Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, a member of the Assembly of Experts' presidium, during a memorial ceremony held at the Rifat Mosque in Qom.
According to Hawzah News, the ceremony was dedicated to Martyr Haj Hassan Mohagheghi, Deputy of the IRGC Intelligence Organization, who was killed in a recent Israeli regime attack. The event was attended by clerics, IRGC officials, and the martyr’s family.
A Covenant of Obedience and Support: The Foundations of a Divine Society
Referring to the two essential pillars in forming a religious society, Ayatollah Araki said, “The covenant of obedience and the pledge of support are the core foundations of a divine community, and martyrdom is among the most distinguished manifestations of these values.”
He stressed, “A society committed to these two covenants will never face defeat or collapse. It will remain steadfast in its journey toward spiritual perfection and lofty goals.”
Guardianship of the Jurist: Continuation of Divine Authority
As a senior member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, Ayatollah Araki highlighted the role of Wilayat al-Faqih, saying:
“Today, the guardianship of the jurist represents the guardianship of God, the Messenger of Islam (PBUH), and the Imam of the Age. To stray from this path is to abandon the divine authority.”
Iran’s Role in the Establishment of the Global Mahdawi Governance
He added that numerous verses in the Holy Qur’an directly or indirectly point to the special role of the Iranian people, underlining Iran’s geographical and spiritual importance in establishing the global governance of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance).
“The Iranian nation must take pride in this divine selection,” Ayatollah Araki declared.
“God has chosen the Iranian people to liberate humanity from the clutches of global arrogance. This country will play a decisive and pivotal role in the future of human history. The martyrdom of great figures like Commander Mohagheghi is both necessary and honorable for this cause,” he continued.
Martyrdom: A Divine Glad Tiding, Not a Tragedy
Referring to the martyrdom of Commander Mohagheghi and his fellow martyrs, Ayatollah Araki stated:
“From the Qur’anic perspective, martyrdom is not a cause for sorrow, but a divine glad tiding for the faithful community. A nation that offers martyrs is not weakened—it gains renewed strength and energy to continue its path.”
Martyrs Are the Soldiers of the Imam of the Age
In conclusion, Ayatollah Araki reiterated: “The martyrs of the path of guardianship, such as Commander Haj Hassan Mohagheghi, are truly soldiers of the Imam of the Age. Martyrdom in the path of the Supreme Leader is martyrdom in the ranks of the Imam, as Wilayat al-Faqih is the continuation of the Infallible Imams’ guardianship and their commands reflect those of the Awaited Savior.” (PW)
