Arrogant Powers Used Media Propaganda Against the Oppressed: Sayyed Abdulmalik
Sayyed Abdulmalik says global powers use media propaganda to criminalize resistance while justifying aggression against oppressed nations across the region.
Yaman, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi said that media propaganda has long been used by powerful states and their allies as a tool to distort reality and criminalize the struggle of oppressed peoples.
In his 15th Ramadan lecture, the Ansarullah leader reflected on the story of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) and how the tyrannical rule of Pharaoh used propaganda to portray Musa as a criminal while he was defending the oppressed.
“When he wanted to strike the one who was an enemy to them both, he said: O Musa, do you want to kill me as you killed a man yesterday? You only want to become a tyrant in the land and do not want to be among the reformers.”
Tyrants Seek to Criminalize the Oppressed
Sayyed Abdulmalik questioned how tyrants throughout history have tried to impose a permanent equation of domination over oppressed peoples so that injustice becomes normalized and resistance becomes unacceptable.
He explained that this is precisely what today’s tyrannical powers—represented by Zionism, the United States, the Israeli occupation entity, along with Britain, the Western bloc, and their collaborators within the Arab and Islamic world—seek to impose on oppressed nations.
According to Sayyed Abdulmalik, voices of betrayal and collaboration within the region actively work to justify crimes against the oppressed while supporting the enemies of the Islamic Ummah.
Propaganda as a Weapon Against Resistance
Sayyed Abdulmalik explained that the same propaganda tactics used by Pharaoh against Prophet Musa are repeated today by global powers.
When Prophet Musa intervened to save an oppressed person, the tyrannical regime attempted to portray him as a criminal and a tyrant.
These accusations were intended to distort his image and undermine his just cause.
Sayyed Abdulmalik emphasized that arrogant powers continue to employ the same strategy against resistance movements today.
While tyrants commit massacres, kill innocent civilians—including newborn children—and carry out acts of genocide, their crimes are presented as legitimate actions.
At the same time, any resistance by the oppressed is immediately criminalized and subjected to massive propaganda campaigns.
Palestine as a Clear Historical Example
Sayyed Abdulmalik pointed to the Zionist occupation of Palestine as a clear historical example of this pattern.
He explained that Zionist groups were gathered from different parts of the world under British and Western sponsorship and brought into Palestine as organized armed gangs.
These groups carried out horrific massacres against Palestinian civilians, including children and women, destroyed entire villages, and committed brutal crimes against the population.
Britain played a central role in arming and protecting Zionist gangs while ensuring that the Palestinian people remained largely unarmed and unable to defend themselves.
Western propaganda then worked to portray Palestinian resistance as terrorism.
Western Media and the War on Truth
Sayyed Abdulmalik stressed that Western powers continue to rely on false narratives and coordinated media campaigns to justify their support for Zionist crimes.
He warned that much of the Arab media landscape today echoes these narratives, aligning itself with tyrannical powers and conducting psychological warfare against the Islamic Ummah.
According to Sayyed Abdulmalik, this media campaign seeks to delegitimize resistance while normalizing aggression and oppression across the region. (PW)
