Araghchi–Putin Talks: Russia Praises Iran, Says the World Admires Its Resistance
Tehran and Moscow deepen coordination after 90-minute talks, as Iran’s resilience against U.S.–Zionist aggression draws global recognition and strategic momentum
Russia, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held extensive talks in St. Petersburg, where Moscow openly acknowledged the resilience of the Iranian people and the failure of U.S.–Zionist aggression to break Iran.
“At the beginning of our conversation, I would like to note that last week I received a message from the Supreme Leader of Iran,” Putin said during his meeting with Araghchi, signaling direct communication at the highest level between Tehran and Moscow.
Speaking after the meeting, Araghchi said the discussions were conducted in detail, reflecting a growing convergence between Tehran and Moscow at a critical moment in West Asia’s geopolitical transformation.
Comprehensive Talks on War, Region, and Strategic Cooperation
Araghchi described the meeting as “very constructive,” noting that it lasted more than 90 minutes. He stated that the talks addressed “all issues in detail,” including the war imposed on Iran by the United States and the Zionist regime—an aggression that has failed to break Iranian resistance and instead reshaped regional dynamics.
He highlighted that both sides explored expanding cooperation, with “very good ideas” proposed to strengthen bilateral ties across multiple sectors. According to Araghchi, the current environment offers “excellent grounds for cooperation,” signaling a new phase in Iran–Russia strategic alignment.
The Iranian foreign minister also reaffirmed Tehran’s firm commitment to maintaining and expanding its strategic partnership with Moscow under evolving global conditions.
Global Recognition of Iran’s Resistance
One of the most striking aspects of the meeting, according to Araghchi, was President Putin’s acknowledgment of the Iranian people’s resistance and victory.
“Putin stated that not only Russia, but the entire world is now praising the Iranian people,” Araghchi said, pointing to their steadfastness in the face of U.S. pressure and their triumph in what he described as an “unequal and unjust war.”
This recognition underscores a growing international awareness that Washington’s campaign of coercion has failed to subdue Iran, instead exposing the limits of American power and the resilience of nations that refuse submission.
Russia Backs Iran’s Sovereignty, Sends Message to Leader
Reinforcing this stance, Putin said the Iranian people are “fighting courageously and heroically for their sovereignty,” expressing confidence that they will overcome current challenges.
He also asked Araghchi to convey a message directly to Iran’s leadership, underscoring the depth of ties between Tehran and Moscow.
“Please convey to the Supreme Leader the words of gratitude for this message and wishes of all the best, health and well-being,” Putin told Araghchi.
He further stressed that Russia would act in ways that serve Iran’s interests and those of the broader region.
“As for our part, we will do everything that meets your interests and the interests of all the peoples of the region, so that this peace can be achieved as quickly as possible,” Putin said.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov reinforced this position, warning against any return to military escalation and emphasizing that continued aggression would harm not only Iran but also regional states and the global economy.
Strategic Partnership Strengthened in New Phase
Araghchi conveyed Iran’s appreciation for Russia’s support throughout the war, while also delivering messages of goodwill from Iranian leadership to Putin.
He reiterated that Iran–Russia relations have already reached the level of a strategic partnership and will continue to advance with greater strength and coordination. (PW)
