Araghchi Warns of ‘False Flag’ Operations Aimed at Dragging Third Countries Into War
Iran’s foreign minister cautions that U.S.-Israeli plots seek to widen the conflict through staged operations and coercion of regional states.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, discussing the repercussions of the imposed war by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran.
The Greek foreign minister expressed deep concern over the consequences of the war, particularly its security and economic dimensions, and voiced hope for a swift return of peace and stability to the region.
Iran Condemns U.S.-Israeli Aggression, Warns of Legal and Moral Collapse
Araghchi outlined the crimes committed by the United States and the Zionist regime over 30 days of military aggression against Iran, stressing the responsibility of all countries to condemn illegal attacks and grave violations of humanitarian law.
He emphasized that indifference toward lawbreaking and terrorist actions by the U.S. and Israel is eroding the international legal and moral order, warning that the consequences will ultimately affect all nations.
The foreign minister further stated that insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is a direct result of U.S.-Israeli military aggression.
He noted that Iran, in accordance with established principles of international law, has adopted measures to prevent aggressors and their partners from exploiting the waterway for unlawful purposes.
These measures include restricting hostile vessels while ensuring the safe passage of others in coordination with relevant Iranian military and security authorities.
Warning of Escalation and ‘False Flag’ Operations
Araghchi underscored the legal obligation of states under international law to prevent aggressors from using their territory and facilities to plan, support, or execute attacks against other countries.
He stressed that U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran constitute a clear violation of Article 4 of the United Nations Charter and represent an act of aggression against a UN member state. All countries, he said, are obligated to condemn this aggression and refrain from any cooperation with the perpetrators.
Araghchi reaffirmed that Iran will continue its defensive operations against aggressors and the sources of attacks, including military bases and facilities used in aggression against Iran, even if located within the territory of regional countries.
He concluded with a warning about U.S.-Israeli schemes to expand the war by pressuring other countries into complicity or by conducting “false flag” operations against third countries to escalate the conflict. (PW)
