Araghchi to Trump: President of Peace or President of War — You Can't Be Both
Addressing the U.S. President directly, Araghchi said: “The real bully in West Asia is the actor that, through its parasitic existence, has long bullied even the United States and exploited it.”
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, responded to recent remarks by the U.S. President made in the Israeli Knesset and in Sharm el-Sheikh.
In a post on his personal account on X, he stated that it has now become entirely clear that the President of the United States has been influenced by false information claiming that Iran’s peaceful nuclear program was on the verge of weaponization earlier this spring.
He stressed that this allegation is nothing but a major lie, and he should have been informed that no evidence exists to support such claims, as even the U.S. intelligence community has confirmed.
Araghchi added that the U.S. President had entered the White House with the promise to the American people and the world to put an end to the repeated deceits of the Israeli regime against U.S. presidents, and also pledged that the U.S. military would no longer be dragged into endless wars — wars engineered by warmongers who for years sabotaged diplomatic efforts on Iran’s nuclear file.
Peace or War: A President Must Choose
Addressing the U.S. President directly, Araghchi said: “The real bully in West Asia is the actor that, through its parasitic existence, has long bullied even the United States and exploited it.”
He further questioned:
“How can the Iranian nation be expected to believe in an olive branch (peace) from someone who, just four months ago, participated in the bombing of homes and urban areas across Iran?”
He noted that those criminal attacks claimed the lives of over 1,000 Iranians, including women and children.
“It is difficult to call someone a president of peace while he fuels endless wars and stands beside war criminals. Mr. Trump can either be a president of peace or a president of war; he cannot be both at the same time.”
Araghchi underlined that Iran has always been ready for respectful and reciprocal diplomatic engagement. The Iranian people — rightful heirs to an ancient and rich civilization — respond to goodwill with goodwill. “But we also know precisely how to resist oppression and confront imposition. This is the hard lesson the ill-fated warmonger in Tel Aviv has learned.”
On Normalization and Palestine
Araghchi concluded by acknowledging one point of agreement with the U.S. President:
“He is right to say that Iran should not be used as an excuse for normalization with Israel.”
He asserted:
“If anyone seeks to sacrifice the Palestinians and ally with a genocidal entity thirsty to devour the entire region, they must have the courage to take full responsibility for this before their own people and not blame others.” (PW)
