Araghchi Talks with Regional Partners on Yemen’s Unity and Israeli Aggression
Iranian foreign minister holds regional consultations on Yemen, Lebanon, and occupied Palestine, stressing sovereignty, ceasefire guarantees, and accountability for Israeli aggression
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, held a series of diplomatic talks and phone consultations with regional counterparts, focusing on the latest regional developments—most notably the situation in Yemen, Lebanon, and occupied Palestine.
Call with Saudi Arabia: Yemen’s Unity and Ceasefire Obligations in Lebanon
In a phone call with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, Araghchi discussed developments in southern Yemen, underscoring the necessity of preserving Yemen’s territorial unity and sovereignty. He emphasized advancing the implementation of the political roadmap in a manner that ensures stability and prevents escalation.
Araghchi also stressed the responsibility of the guarantor parties to the ceasefire in Lebanon to compel Israel to halt its ongoing attacks against the Lebanese people and violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
For his part, Minister bin Farhan underscored the need to hold Israel accountable for its violations, highlighting the importance of continued consultation and cooperation among regional states to safeguard regional security, peace, and stability.
Talks with Qatar: Israeli Crimes and Regional Responsibility
In a related call, Araghchi held discussions with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The talks addressed bilateral relations as well as rapidly unfolding regional developments.
Both ministers pointed to the continuation of Israeli crimes and attacks across the region—particularly the ongoing genocide in occupied Palestine and Israel’s persistent violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. They emphasized the responsibility of regional states and the international community to put an end to these grave breaches of international law.
The two sides also reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, reiterating the imperative of maintaining Yemen’s territorial unity and sovereignty and rejecting any actions that threaten its security and stability.
Consultation with Yemen: Warning Against Destabilization
Separately, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, Acting Foreign Minister in Yemen’s Government of Change and Construction, held a phone call with Araghchi to exchange views on the latest developments in Yemen.
Abu Ras briefed the Iranian foreign minister on recent developments in southern Yemen, warning that measures driven by Yemen’s enemies and those of the region—aimed at further destabilization—would only complicate the situation and exacerbate regional insecurity.
Support for Yemen and Palestine, Pathway to a Political Settlement
Araghchi praised the Yemeni people’s steadfast support for the oppressed Palestinian people and their resilience in the face of Israeli aggression. He reaffirmed the necessity of preserving Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity and called on all Yemeni parties and political forces to engage in dialogue and cooperation to thwart schemes aimed at weakening and partitioning the country.
He also welcomed the recent agreement between Yemeni parties and Saudi Arabia on prisoner exchanges, stressing that resolving the Yemeni crisis requires a complete lifting of the blockade, full implementation of the remaining elements of the political roadmap, and the launch of an inclusive Yemeni–Yemeni dialogue to form a unity government—grounded in safeguarding Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity.
