Araghchi Responds to Trump’s Threats: Our Armed Forces Are Ready, Finger on the Trigger
Our brave Armed Forces are prepared—with their fingers on the trigger—to immediately and powerfully respond to any aggression against our beloved land, air, and sea
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has warned that Iran’s armed forces remain on full alert and ready to respond immediately to any act of aggression, following recent threats issued by US President Donald Trump.
In a message published on his official X account, Araghchi stated that Iran’s military forces are fully prepared to defend the country’s land, airspace, and territorial waters against any violation.
“Our brave Armed Forces are prepared—with their fingers on the trigger—to immediately and powerfully respond to any aggression against our beloved land, air, and sea,” Araghchi said.
He added that Iran’s current level of readiness is the result of direct operational experience, noting that recent conflicts have strengthened the country’s response capabilities.
“The valuable lessons learned from the 12-Day War have enabled us to respond even more strongly, rapidly, and profoundly,” he said.
Iran Rejects Negotiations Under Pressure
At the same time, Araghchi reiterated Iran’s longstanding position on nuclear negotiations, stressing that Tehran has never opposed diplomacy but categorically rejects talks conducted under coercion, threats, or intimidation.
“Iran has always welcomed a mutually beneficial, fair, and equitable nuclear deal—on equal footing and free from coercion, threats, and intimidation,” Araghchi stated.
He emphasized that any agreement must explicitly recognize Iran’s legitimate rights under international law, particularly its right to peaceful nuclear technology.
Such an agreement, he added, must also provide clear guarantees regarding the non-militarization of Iran’s nuclear program.
“It must ensure Iran’s rights to peaceful nuclear technology and guarantee no nuclear weapons,” Araghchi said.
Nuclear Weapons ‘Have No Place’ in Iran’s Doctrine
Araghchi further underlined that nuclear weapons are fundamentally incompatible with Iran’s security doctrine and strategic calculations.
“Such weapons have no place in our security calculations,” he said, adding that Iran has “never sought to acquire them.”
Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that the country’s military capabilities, including its missile and drone forces, are defensive in nature and aimed at deterrence, particularly in light of the continued presence of foreign military forces across West Asia.
Araghchi’s remarks come amid heightened tensions following increasingly explicit statements from Washington regarding potential military action, a posture Iranian officials warn would be met with a decisive and immediate response. (PW)
