Araghchi: Iran Did Not Request a Ceasefire and Will Not Negotiate with the United States
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Tehran never requested a ceasefire, rejects talks with Washington after the attack during negotiations, and warns all options remain open.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran has not requested any ceasefire and firmly rejects negotiations with the United States.
Speaking in an interview with NBC News, Araghchi emphasized that Iran sees no reason to hold talks with Washington following the recent attack that occurred during ongoing negotiations.
He said the strike carried out while diplomatic talks were underway has created deep distrust toward any future dialogue with the United States.
Araghchi also denied reports claiming that Iran launched any projectiles toward the Republic of Nakhchivan, rejecting the allegation outright.
Warning Over U.S. Actions and Strategic Options
The Iranian foreign minister warned that the United States will deeply regret the sinking of the Iranian warship Dena.
He further stated that Iran has no intention of closing the Strait of Hormuz, but stressed that if the war continues, Tehran may review all available options.
According to Araghchi, the attack carried out during negotiations effectively undermined the diplomatic process, leaving no justification for Iran to engage in further talks with the United States at this time. (PW)
