Another Ceasefire Violation: Israel Kills One and Injures Five in South Lebanon
Israeli Airstrikes Hit Musaylih and al-Najariya, Disrupting Vital Road Between Saida and Nabatieh
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Israel continued its aggression against southern Lebanon early Saturday, conducting fresh airstrikes in the areas between Musaylih and al-Najariya.
The attack resulted in the martyrdom of one individual and injuries to five others, despite the ongoing ceasefire agreement.
Civilian and Infrastructure Impact
According to field reports, the airstrikes specifically targeted excavation machinery and bulldozers operating in the area.
The attacks caused significant damage and blocked the key road linking Saida and Nabatieh, a vital route for civilian movement and logistics.
Efforts are currently underway to clear debris and reopen the disrupted passage, highlighting the ongoing difficulties faced by local authorities in maintaining critical infrastructure under repeated bombardment.
Pattern of Ongoing Violations
These latest raids are part of a continued series of Israeli violations of the ceasefire declared on November 27, 2024. In a previous incident on October 8, an Israeli quadcopter carried out four consecutive attacks on the town of Houla, including the dropping of a stun grenade and the shelling of a local café.
Lebanese sources confirm that such actions represent a persistent policy of targeted aggression, aimed at hindering reconstruction efforts and maintaining instability in southern regions.
Despite international calls for de-escalation, the situation in southern Lebanon remains volatile. The repeated attacks underscore the fragile nature of the current ceasefire and the continued threat to civilian life and infrastructure.
Local communities, still recovering from previous escalations, now face renewed uncertainty as Israeli forces continue their operations across the border. (PW)
