Analyst: Iran’s Strikes on the United States Signal the Birth of a New West Asia
Ahmad al-Zein says Washington and Tel Aviv are trapped in a dangerous war they cannot win as Iran’s response reshapes the regional balance of power.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Lebanese political analyst Ahmad al-Zein stated that Iran’s powerful military response against American and Israeli interests marks the birth of a new regional order in West Asia, where the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Axis of Resistance will play the decisive role.
In his analysis, al-Zein examined the consequences of the ongoing war and argued that Iran’s retaliatory strikes have fundamentally altered the strategic balance across the Persian Gulf and the wider West Asia region.
Assassination of the Leader Failed to Destabilize Iran
Al-Zein began by describing the assassination of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khamenei, by the Zionist regime with the support of the United States as a full-scale war crime.
According to him, Washington and Tel Aviv believed that eliminating Iran’s leader would trigger internal chaos and ultimately collapse the Islamic Republic.
However, he said the attackers failed to understand the nature of the Iranian nation.
“They forgot they were confronting a people who understand history and know how to write the end of the tyrants of their time,” he said.
Iran’s response followed quickly, as missiles fired by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted American military bases across seven Arab countries.
At the same time, millions of Iranians poured into the streets of Tehran chanting “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” demonstrating widespread national unity and support for the country’s leadership and armed forces.
Trump and Netanyahu Facing Strategic Deadlock
The Lebanese analyst argued that the scale and intensity of Iran’s reaction created a strategic crisis for U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He said millions of Zionist settlers have been forced into shelters while the economic cost of the war continues to escalate.
According to his estimates:
The United States has already suffered $160 billion in losses during the first days of the war
The Israeli regime is reportedly losing around $1 billion per day
“This was not merely a military response,” al-Zein said. “It was a declaration of the birth of a new Middle East in which Iran and the Resistance Axis will determine the future.”
He added that Washington and Tel Aviv initiated a dangerous adventure and are now searching for a way out of the “dark tunnel of defeat” they created.
Iran’s Strategic Advantages in the Conflict
Al-Zein emphasized that Iran entered the confrontation fully prepared and highly organized, allowing it to deliver rapid and devastating responses against American bases and Israeli targets.
He also pointed to Iran’s strategic geographical advantages, particularly its control over critical maritime chokepoints such as the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of the world’s oil and gas supplies passes.
According to the analyst, Iran could expand the confrontation into economic warfare, potentially disrupting global energy flows and causing dramatic increases in food and energy prices if instability in the Strait of Hormuz continues.
Ideological and Military Strength of Iran
Beyond geography and military capabilities, al-Zein stressed that Iran possesses powerful internal strengths.
He cited the religious and ideological motivation rooted in the culture of jihad and Karbala, which he said shapes the fighting spirit of both the IRGC and the Iranian Armed Forces.
He also noted that Iran’s vast territory makes any attempt to invade or occupy the country extremely difficult.
“In any scenario, Iran holds the advantage,” he said. “Air strikes cannot overthrow the Islamic Republic, and any ground invasion would be military suicide.”
War Could Turn Into a Long Conflict
Al-Zein predicted that the war could last far longer than the four to five days originally suggested by Trump.
If the conflict continues, he said, the United States and Israel could face a long and costly war of attrition in military, economic, and logistical terms.
Ending the war would represent a major defeat for Washington and Tel Aviv, while continuing it would expose them to escalating losses.
Growing Opposition to the War in the United States
The analyst also pointed to rising domestic opposition to the war within the United States.
He cited American media figures and political voices arguing that the conflict primarily serves Israeli interests rather than U.S. national security.
According to al-Zein, protests against Trump have begun appearing in several American cities, and the war could influence upcoming midterm elections in November.
“If the war continues,” he said, “it could even lead to the fall of the Trump administration.”
Israel Facing Strategic Collapse
Al-Zein concluded by warning that the continuation of the war could lead to a strategic, economic, and military collapse for Israel.
He said Iranian strikes have already damaged key infrastructure and military facilities while forcing millions of settlers to remain inside shelters.
Such conditions, he suggested, could eventually trigger reverse migration from the occupied territories.
“The Iranian people have shown courage, patience, and unity around their leadership and armed forces,” he said. “They are a deeply rooted civilization with thousands of years of history.”
“For that reason,” he concluded, “the victor of this war will be the side that stands on the side of truth—and Iran stands on the side of truth. The region will change in favor of Iran and the Axis of Resistance.” (PW)
