Alongside Saleh Al-Jafarawi, Son of Hamas Official Also Confirmed Martyred by Israeli Proxy Gangs
He was reportedly shot and killed during armed confrontations with criminal gangs linked to the Israeli occupation
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Palestinian media sources confirmed that the son of Basem Naim, a senior Hamas official, was martyred in the al-Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City.
He was reportedly shot and killed during armed confrontations with criminal gangs linked to the Israeli occupation.
In parallel, security sources in Gaza reported that resistance forces have captured more than 60 individuals associated with occupation-backed militias operating inside the Strip.
A resistance security official stated that one of the most prominent members of the “Yasser Abu Shabab” network, responsible for recruiting mercenary elements, was killed in southern Gaza during a security operation.
Hebrew media outlet Hadshot B’Zman reported that Israeli authorities have lost contact with Yasser Abu Shabab, the alleged leader of these networks. It is believed he may have been detained by resistance security services.
Journalist Saleh al-Jafarawi Killed by Collaborators
Renowned Palestinian journalist Saleh al-Jafarawi was martyred in southern Gaza after being shot by armed collaborators while preparing a news report.
Witnesses confirmed that he was working on Street 8, south of Gaza City, when members of a clan cooperating with the occupation opened fire, killing him instantly.
For the past two years, al-Jafarawi had been widely recognized for his frontline coverage of the war, documenting destruction, civilian suffering, and the resilience of the Palestinian people.
Final Message of Saleh al-Jafarawi
Following the announcement of the ceasefire, al-Jafarawi shared a final public message expressing gratitude to global supporters of the Palestinian cause, including protesters, boycotters, and international solidarity movements such as the Gaza Sumud Flotilla and the Freedom Flotilla.
“Yes, the war has ended, but don’t turn your attention away from Gaza. Stay with Gaza always, because Gaza needs your voice, especially in the coming stage.”
He concluded by reaffirming the steadfastness of his people:
“We are the people of this land, and we have the right to live on it.”
Gaza: Unprecedented Loss Among Journalists
According to data from the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Gaza has become the deadliest zone for media workers in modern history, with over 222 Palestinian journalists killed in the past two years.
French-Belgian journalist and historian Anthony Bellanger, writing in The Guardian, reflected on the gravity of the situation, recalling colleagues such as Anas al-Sharif, killed on August 10, 2025.
Bellanger noted that since its founding in 1926, the IFJ has never recorded such a scale of journalist killings — not during World War II, nor in conflicts in Vietnam, Korea, Syria, Afghanistan, or Iraq.
He emphasized the heightened danger facing Palestinian journalists, who operate without protection while foreign media remain barred from entering the Gaza Strip. (PW)
