Albanese: Antisemitism Is a Deceptive Pretext — Arming Israel Must End
Albanese said the charge of antisemitism is being used as a major deception. There is no case against Israel as an identity, but rather against the actions carried out by the Israeli state
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, stated that many Western governments are failing to help stop Israel from continuing its violations against Palestinians.
Speaking in media remarks on Monday, Albanese called for the immediate cessation of arms supplies to Israel, warning that without such measures, Israel will continue its violations against the Palestinian people.
She stressed the need to halt Israeli violence against Palestinians, noting that Israel has enjoyed decades of impunity, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.
Antisemitism Accusation Used as a Political Shield
Albanese said the charge of antisemitism is being used as a major deception, particularly in Europe, to exploit legitimate concerns about hatred toward Jews. She emphasized that there is no case against Israel as an identity, but rather against the actions carried out by the Israeli state.
She stated that Palestinians are living through the most difficult moments in their history, describing it as deeply troubling that condemnations are repeatedly issued without meaningful action. She reiterated that Israeli violence against Palestinians must be stopped.
Albanese explained that ethnic cleansing means making Palestinian land empty of Palestinians, describing this as a long-term objective of those seeking to restrict Palestine exclusively to Jews.
She added that, according to statements by some Israeli ministers, the Israeli government presents Palestinians with two choices: either leave Palestine, or remain under oppression—a reality Palestinians reject.
The UN rapporteur also expressed concern that UN member states may remain submissive to what she described as bullying by Israel and the United States, stressing that states must develop alternatives to protect multilateralism and halt what she described as a colonial approach toward Palestinians.
She concluded by expressing regret over the repeated cycle of verbal condemnations, underscoring the urgent necessity of stopping Israel’s use of force against Palestinians.
