Al-Qassam Spokesman Calls for West Bank Intifada as Israeli Attacks Intensify
Abu Obeida calls for resistance amid mass displacement and destruction across occupied territories
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, declared on Thursday that Palestinian Resistance fighters are continuing large-scale operations from al-Khalil (Hebron) to Jenin, directly responding to the Israeli occupation’s intensifying aggression—particularly around Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement posted to his official Telegram channel, Abu Obeida stated:
“These operations are a direct response to the escalating crimes committed by the enemy army and its settlers, which have turned the lives of Palestinians into hell.”
He emphasized that the Resistance remains strong, determined, and active across the West Bank despite Israeli attempts to crush the uprising.
Call to Action for Palestinian Youth in al-Quds and the West Bank
Abu Obeida issued a public call to Palestinian youth throughout the occupied West Bank and al-Quds (Jerusalem) to intensify their resistance efforts. He urged the younger generation to rise up and confront the occupation, warning that settler violence and annexation plans would only grow in the absence of strong popular response.
“Rise before what remains of Palestine slips away from our people’s hands,” he warned.
He called the struggle a national duty, urging unified defiance to deter further expansionism and displacement.
Over 40,000 Palestinians Displaced in 2024 Alone
The Israeli human rights group B’Tselem reported that more than 40,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced this year in the occupied West Bank, including in areas such as Tulkarm, Nur Shams, and Jenin refugee camps.
The group cited Israeli military offensives and demolitions as the primary cause of this mass displacement, which it described as a deliberate policy to weaken and depopulate resistance strongholds.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military has justified the demolitions as “operationally necessary”, claiming they are required to ensure freedom of movement for its troops in urban combat zones.
Entire Neighborhoods Flattened as Annexation Fears Mount
On the ground, Reuters witnesses observed bulldozers clearing out entire neighborhoods, leaving piles of debris and ash where homes once stood. Roads were being expanded amid the rubble, as families desperately salvaged furniture, bedding, and household items.
According to Tulkarm Governor Abdullah Kamil, destruction has surged in recent weeks, with 106 homes and 104 additional structures demolished in Tulkarm and Nur Shams alone.
The international community has condemned the escalating demolitions, warning that they reflect a coordinated effort to annex large parts of the West Bank—territory that remains under occupation since the 1967 war. (PW)
