Al-Qassam Announces Martyrdom of Senior Leadership | Full Statement
Hamas’ military wing honors senior commanders who fell as martyrs during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced the martyrdom of several senior commanders during the battle of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
In an official statement, Al-Qassam said it bid farewell to its Chief of Staff, Mohammad Sinwar (Abu Ibrahim), describing him as a central leader who guided the brigades through one of the most critical phases of the confrontation, succeeding the late commander Mohammed Deif.
The movement said the commanders fell as martyrs while carrying out their duties on the battlefield and inside command-and-control rooms, remaining at their posts until the final moments.
Martyrdom of Al-Qassam Spokesman Abu Ubaida Announced
Al-Qassam also announced the martyrdom of its military spokesman, Abu Ubaida, whose appearances and statements became a defining symbol of Palestinian resistance throughout the war.
In its statement, the movement described Abu Ubaida as a historic figure whose voice and words inspired millions, with his red keffiyeh becoming an icon for free people around the world.
Al-Qassam said Abu Ubaida attained martyrdom after years of leading the resistance’s media and messaging apparatus, conveying the course of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and the steadfastness of Gaza’s fighters to the world.
Other Commanders Martyred as Resistance Reaffirms Continuity
The statement further confirmed the martyrdom of Mohammad Shabana (Abu Anas), commander of the Rafah Brigade, along with Hikmat Issa (Abu Omar), who played key roles in training, military education institutions, and combat weapons development.
Al-Qassam also announced the martyrdom of Sheikh Raed Saad (Abu Muadh), former head of the manufacturing unit and a former chief of operations.
The movement stressed that October 7 marked a decisive eruption against occupation, siege, and aggression, affirming that the Palestinian people are defending themselves and will not lay down their arms as long as occupation persists.
It said the sacrifice of its commanders will only strengthen the resolve of the resistance and ensure the continuation of the struggle.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds—the One who grants honor to His believing servants and humiliates the disbelievers and criminal oppressors, even if after a time. All praise is due to Allah, who says: “And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might snatch you away, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things so that you might be grateful.” And He, Glorified be He, also says: “Among the believers are men who were true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some still await, and they have not changed in the least.”
Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, the mujahid and martyr, who strove in the cause of Allah as it should be striven for, who was harmed in the path of Allah and endured patiently, until victory and empowerment came to him from his Lord.
And now,
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
We greet you from the land of dignity and refusal—the land of jihad, martyrdom, purity, and pride. We take pride in our belonging to Gaza of honor, and in our great pride in its mighty mujahideen—patient, steadfast, seeking reward—heirs of the Prophets, descendants of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. O most noble of people, O greatest of people, O chosen servants of Allah in the choicest of His lands; O truthful ones who still await and have not altered their pledge—peace be upon you for your patience, and excellent indeed is the final abode.
Peace be upon Gaza—its soil, its water, its sky, its air. Peace be upon its men, its women, and its children. Peace be upon its resistance and its heroes. Peace be upon you for what you have endured: the pain of loss, captivity, wounds, and the agonies of displacement. Peace be upon you as you endure the hardship of life and the cold of winter today—peace upon your worn tents, your cracked homes, and your exhausted bodies. Yet your souls, your faith, your resolve, and your certainty in Allah are stronger than all the enemies and conspirators can imagine—those who delight in your suffering and await your collapse. How could that ever be, by Allah’s permission?
You are the glory and the opening chapter of a noble history. What pride and honor it is that the blood of the mujahideen mingles with the blood of their families, and that commanders and their households stand in the ranks of those who sacrifice all they possess. We are from you and you are from us. Together, with contented souls, we have offered the most precious thing we own, answering the call of our Lord and seeking what is with Him. We are certain that Allah will never deprive us of the reward for our deeds, and that these pure bloods will never be lost in His sight. Trust your Lord; the tides will turn against the oppressors, even if after a time: “And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do.”
O sons of our people wherever you may be—in Gaza, Jerusalem, the West Bank, the occupied interior, and the diaspora; O sons of our vast Ummah; O free people of the world.
Today, with pride and honor, we announce to you a great constellation from among the sons of our people and the heroic mujahideen who fulfilled their pledge after the occupation violated the truce and resumed its criminal war last March, joining a long caravan of righteous martyrs. We single out for mention a group of the blessed Al-Qassam commanders who ascended in the battlefield and within command-and-control rooms, stationed at their posts, performing their jihadist roles without fatigue or retreat.
We announce the martyrdom of the great commander and mujahid Mohammed al-Sinwar (“Abu Ibrahim”), Chief of Staff of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades—an exemplary successor to an exemplary predecessor, a man of exceptional intellect—who led the Brigades during an extremely difficult phase, succeeding the great martyr of the Ummah, Abu Khaled al-Deif. He had served as Head of Operations during the Al-Aqsa Flood, making a major contribution and playing a prominent role in the planning and execution of the glorious October 7 operation, as well as supervising the details of the defensive plan and confronting the brutal occupation aggression against Gaza. A journey our great commander began decades ago, marked by great milestones—from sacred retribution to the shattered illusion, from leading the Khan Younis Brigade to a series of senior leadership positions within Al-Qassam—until it was sealed with martyrdom on the fronts of dignity and honor.
We also announce the martyrdom of the great commander Mohammed Shabana (“Abu Anas”), Commander of the Rafah Brigade in the Al-Qassam Brigades, who ascended alongside Commander Abu Ibrahim al-Sinwar and a group of their fellow commanders and mujahideen. Abu Anas was a companion of the great commanders Abu Shammala and al-Attar, a distinguished leader who contributed across various fields, from media to logistics; a hero known in the south and for his qualitative operations—from The Shattered Illusion, to The Harbinger of Explosion, to the capture of Hadar Goldin—culminating in the remarkable achievements recorded by the heroes of Rafah during the Al-Aqsa Flood.
We further announce the martyrdom of the great commander Hakam al-Issa (“Abu Omar”), the devoted migrant mujahid, the humble, God-fearing leader—modest among his brothers, firm and courageous in the fields of confrontation—who traveled across lands carrying the trust of jihad in Palestine, known in Lebanon, Syria, and other places, before finally settling in Gaza of honor to continue the path of jihad and transfer his experience to his fellow mujahideen in Palestine. He held various leadership positions, most notably in training, the military institutes and colleges authority, and finally the combat weapons division.
We also announce the martyrdom of the great commander who recently joined this caravan, the martyred Sheikh Raed Saad (“Abu Muadh”), Head of the Manufacturing Division in the Al-Qassam Brigades and former Head of the Operations Division. A dignified, God-fearing sheikh known to the fields of jihad since the earliest days, he labored day and night in giving and sacrifice—leading the First Gaza Brigade, then moving through various leadership positions and multiple fronts of jihad—until he concluded his journey by leading the military manufacturing system that produced Al-Qassam’s weapons independently, with Palestinian hands alone: from bullet to rifle, from rocket to explosive device and shell, from boat to drone. These weapons played a decisive role in the crossing of October 7 and the defensive battle that followed.
As we stand before you today, we cannot but pause in reverence and honor before the bearer of this station—the one who long appeared before you with his powerful voice, truthful words, and awaited glad tidings; the masked figure loved by millions, whose appearances were awaited with longing, seen as a source of inspiration, and whose red keffiyeh became an icon for all free people of the world: the great martyred commander, the spokesman of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida—the resounding voice of the Ummah, the man of word and stance, the pulse of Palestine, its Jerusalem, its people, and its resistance; the leader of Al-Qassam’s media, whose profound impact was etched in the hearts of the Ummah. This knight never ceased to be present with his people in the darkest of circumstances; he addressed them from the heart of the battle, giving glad tidings, strengthening their resolve, consoling them, and steadying them, despite the severe danger and repeated targeting. The enemy’s audience awaited him even before his own people, to hear from him the decisive word and the certain news.
Today we announce to our Ummah and our people—by his true name and kunya—the martyrdom of the great commander Hudhayfa Samir Abdullah al-Kahlout (“Abu Ibrahim”), who dismounted after two decades of enraging enemies and soothing the hearts of believers, meeting Allah in the best of states. What clearer sign of sincerity with Allah than that He elevates a servant’s remembrance among all people and places acceptance for him on earth? He dismounted after leading the Al-Qassam media apparatus with complete competence, recording—together with his brothers—an honorable performance witnessed by friend and foe alike, conveying to the world the unfolding of the Al-Aqsa Flood in its finest form and the heroism of Gaza’s mujahideen that astonished the world and enraged the enemies. Commander Hudhayfa al-Kahlout has departed, and we have inherited his title: Abu Obeida. Peace be upon you among the eternal, and a covenant upon us to continue the path.
The blood of our people, our mujahideen, and our commanders—spilled on the land of Gaza in the most honorable of battles—stands as proof against all, and a call for the Ummah to rise, shake off the dust, and mobilize in support of Palestine and Al-Aqsa, for which Gaza has offered the most precious of what it possesses, presenting its case before Allah that it has fulfilled its duty and continues to do so. Its sons will not lower the banner until victory over the enemies or martyrdom in the path of Allah, in defense of the most just cause known to modern history.
We in the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, more than two months after the announcement of the halt to the genocidal war that lasted two full years and the entry into force of the ceasefire, affirm the following:
First: October 7 was a thunderous eruption in the face of oppression, subjugation, siege, and all forms of aggression against our Al-Aqsa and our people—aggression that crossed all red lines, ignored all demands and warnings, and trampled all conventions and agreements. The Flood came to correct the course, return a cause that had begun to slip into the abyss of oblivion to the forefront, awaken the consciences of the free in the Ummah and the world, expose the occupation’s brutality, sadism, criminality, and genocide, and render it a criminal fleeing justice. Our great people, through their steadfastness and sacrifices, thwarted all the enemy’s plans—from displacement, to concentration camps and death traps, to attempts at resettlement—and brought down all the objectives of the war. The enemy failed to strip the spirit of resistance from the people of Gaza, instead bequeathing a legacy of vengeance in every Palestinian home, and failed to recover its captives by force, who returned only through exchange after being safeguarded throughout the battle.
Second: The ceasefire that entered into force more than two months ago and the halt to the bloodshed on the land of Gaza—before the eyes and ears of an unjust world—was the result of our people’s steadfastness, sacrifices, and the firmness of their resistance. Had the enemy found submission or surrender among our people and resistance, it would not have ceased its annihilation of people, stone, and tree. Despite the violations and attacks since the war halted—violations that crossed all red lines—the resistance fulfilled its obligations with the utmost responsibility, prioritizing the interests of our people and denying the occupation pretexts it seeks to fabricate to resume bloodshed. We affirm that our right to respond to its crimes is inherent and guaranteed. We call on all concerned to restrain the occupation, halt its aggression, and compel it to adhere to what was agreed upon. We also call on all who care to work toward disarming the occupation’s lethal weaponry—used and still used in the annihilation of our people and aggression against the states of the region—instead of focusing on the light weapons of Palestinians, which the enemy seeks to use as a flimsy pretext to sabotage the ceasefire. Our people are defending themselves and will not relinquish their weapons as long as the occupation remains; they will not surrender even if they must fight with their fingernails. In Rafah and its steadfast men, who chose martyrdom over surrender, lies the clearest proof.
Third: Alongside the occupation’s aggression against Gaza and its blatant violations of the ceasefire, its aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque, the West Bank, and the prisoners is escalating—through violations of Al-Aqsa’s sanctity, the displacement of our people in West Bank camps, settler rampages in its streets, and efforts to complete the annexation project that the settler government is rushing to impose on the ground. Add to this the brutal assault on our steadfast prisoners and the legislation of laws to execute them. This aggression and others demand that our people confront it, and send a message to all free people of the world that the occupation’s aggression has not stopped; therefore, their movement must not stop either, but must continue and escalate—popularly, politically, and legally—so that criminals do not escape accountability. It is also an act of fidelity to salute those who stood with our people among the heroes of the Ummah—in Yemen of faith, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, the free people of Jordan, and other countries—and all who stood with our people in various forums, as well as the free people of the world who organized marches, actions, and freedom flotillas.
Fourth: From the land of Gaza of honor and steadfastness, which dies standing and refuses to kneel or drop the banner, we call upon the sons of our Ummah to rescue Gaza. Even though the sound of guns has quieted, Gaza continues to suffer greatly. It is your duty to aid it and alleviate its suffering while you are able to do so; this is the least that can be offered to its people after many abandoned them during genocide. Know that whoever remains silent in the face of injustice against his brothers in Arabism and Islam should await his turn for violation and aggression. The duty of the moment for the Ummah is to stand as one against its foremost enemy, which adds a new capital to its target bank every day and seeks to turn the region’s states into a gateway for what it calls “Greater Israel.” The ongoing aggression against Lebanon and sister Syria is clear proof. Here, we must salute our people in Syria who confronted Zionist aggression with their bodies after being left alone. Awake, O Ummah of Islam, and recognize the fragility of this bloated enemy that was humiliated on the land of Gaza. Know that the autumn of the occupation has begun, the curse of the eighth decade has descended upon it, and another battle is shaking its foundations and gnawing at its structure—glad tidings of its demise by Allah’s permission. The curses of the blood of children, women, and innocents, and the devastation of crops and progeny, will continue to pursue it until all creation rejects it—even stone and tree. Its isolation and the severing of people’s support mark the beginning of its decline after arrogance and great corruption, heralding the nearness of its end and the fulfillment of the promise of the Hereafter, under whose shadow justice will be done against all who committed crimes against our people, all who coordinated, normalized, and colluded with our enemy, all who cooperated with the occupier and accepted being its agents—only to be cast aside in humiliation or killed, as happened to those who bore the greatest burden of it weeks ago.
In conclusion, O our people—O great people of Gaza, O towering mountains of Gaza; O our fathers, mothers, brothers, and children; O our mujahid families and steadfast clans—we are your sons, and we take pride in that. We kiss your heads and bow in reverence to you, and we promise to remain loyal to you and your sacrifices. Just as we lived together through hardship and pain, we will rebuild together what the occupation destroyed; we will bind wounds and comfort the afflicted. By Allah, your sacrifices will not be lost. Allah has honored every household among you with a share in the battle to defend Al-Aqsa, has cast beautiful patience into your hearts, and enveloped you with His gentleness. This is Allah’s favor upon you, for you are the beloved of the Messenger of Allah, those who grasp burning embers, who find few helpers in truth. As you are the best of those who stand guard—“and the best of your ribat is Ascalon”—you have every right to raise your heads high despite the pain. Allah has chosen and favored you to be the people of these divine gifts and prophetic glad tidings that every Muslim on this earth longs for. What is with Allah is better and everlasting; and then, glad tidings to the patient believers—it will be as though they never tasted hardship at all: “Indeed, the allies of Allah—there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.” “Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account.”
“And Allah prevails over His affair, but most people do not know.”
It is jihad—victory or martyrdom.
