Al-Qassam Announces Martyrdom of Senior Commander Raed Saeed Saad
Resistance Says Israeli Occupation Assassinated a Key Leader in a Blatant Ceasefire Violation, Vows Continued Resistance
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced on Saturday the martyrdom of senior commander Raed Saeed Saad, known as Abu Muadh, following what it described as a targeted assassination carried out by the Israeli occupation.
In an official military statement, Al-Qassam said the assassination constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, accusing the occupation of deliberately escalating aggression despite mediation efforts.
A Long Journey of Sacrifice and Resistance
Al-Qassam stated that Abu Muadh had a long and distinguished journey of sacrifice and dedication across multiple fields of resistance.
His role culminated in leading the movement’s military manufacturing apparatus, which the Brigades described as a central pillar of resistance operations during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and throughout the confrontations with the occupation.
The statement emphasized that the occupation’s targeting of senior commanders represents a crossing of all red lines, as Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip continue unabated.
US and Mediators Held Responsible
The Brigades directly held the United States and mediators, including US President Donald Trump, responsible for enabling and covering the occupation’s repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement.
Al-Qassam stressed that political sponsorship and silence have emboldened the occupation to continue assassinations and military aggression.
“The Right to Respond Is Guaranteed”
Addressing the assassination, Al-Qassam reaffirmed its inherent right to self-defense:
“The right to respond to the occupation’s aggression is guaranteed. It is our right to defend ourselves by all means.”
The Brigades announced that a new commander has already been appointed to assume the duties previously held by Abu Muadh, stressing that the resistance structure remains intact.
“The path of jihad will not stop,” the statement said, adding that the killing of leaders only strengthens determination, steadfastness, and resolve within the resistance.
Hamas Mourns the Martyrs
In a separate statement, Hamas mourned the martyrdom of Raed Saeed Saad and the fighters who were martyred alongside him, naming:
Riyad al-Labban
Abdul Hai Zaqout
Yahya al-Kayali
The movement said they were martyred after a long journey of jihad, resistance, and defense of Palestine and its people.
Hamas noted that Abu Muadh survived multiple assassination attempts throughout his career, which only deepened his commitment to the resistance project against the occupation.
Hamas stressed that Israeli assassinations and crimes further confirm that resistance is the only path capable of ending the occupation and restoring the full rights of the Palestinian people.
The movement reaffirmed its adherence to a steadfast and uncompromising path, rejecting intimidation and political pressure.
Hamas Marks 38 Years of Resistance
In a speech marking the 38th anniversary of Hamas, leader Khalil Al-Hayya said the movement’s focus in the coming phase is confronting the growing challenges and risks facing the Palestinian cause.
He underscored the importance of continuing efforts to halt hostilities, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and reopen the Rafah crossing, as part of addressing the catastrophic conditions in Gaza.
Al-Hayya stated that the resistance has succeeded in restoring the natural status of the Palestinian cause, which had been marginalized over past decades, and in elevating the resistance project as a source of hope for Arab and Islamic peoples on the path toward liberation and return.
He affirmed that resistance and its weapons are a legitimate right, guaranteed under international law for peoples living under occupation, and said Hamas remains open to proposals that preserve this right while ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Call for Unity and Accountability
In his concluding remarks, Al-Hayya stressed the need to strengthen national unity, restore the standing of the Palestine Liberation Organization, and intensify legal action to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes.
He called for expanded regional and international action to isolate Israel politically and increase global support for the Palestinian cause. (PW)
