Manama — In a chilling escalation of its relentless war against its own people, the illegitimate Al Khalifa regime has stripped 69 Bahraini citizens and their entire families of their nationality, rendering generations of men, women, and children completely stateless. The decree, announced on April 27, 2026, was carried out simultaneously without a shred of due process, fair trial, or the right to appeal.
A damning new report released by the Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB) has exposed the terrifying depth of this organised repression. According to the human rights organisation, the puppet regime in Manama is actively exploiting the current conditions of regional war to expand its draconian policies.
Since 2012, the dictatorship has wielded citizenship revocation as a weapon of extortion and political cleansing. By 2019, nearly 990 citizens had already been stripped of their identities under the tired, fabricated pretexts of “terrorism” and “rebellion”—labels routinely used by the regime to criminalise the legitimate demands of the oppressed and their solidarity with the Axis of Resistance.
Now, facing widespread popular defiance, the regime has descended to new lows, wielding dangerously vague and baseless accusations such as “sympathy on social media” and “praise of attacks” to justify its atrocities.
The ADHRB emphasised that this is no longer just the persecution of political dissidents; it has mutated into a brutal form of collective punishment. By dragging innocent children and extended family members into the crosshairs, the Al Khalifa regime is depriving them of basic human dignity. Stripped of official documents, these stateless families are now denied access to fundamental rights, including education, healthcare, and housing.
This draconian manoeuvre is not just a legal abuse; it is an attempt at demographic and political erasure. It seeks to birth generations of stateless individuals—both inside and outside the country—who are denied their fundamental right to exist on their ancestral homeland.
Yet, the desperation of the Al Khalifa regime only highlights its profound weakness and deep-seated fear of the resilient Bahraini people. As the dictatorship relies increasingly on Western silence and foreign security apparatuses to maintain its iron grip, the faithful in Bahrain continue to draw strength from the pure principles of Wilayah and justice.
The international community’s continued silence in the face of these war crimes remains a glaring testament to Western hypocrisy. But no decree from a corrupt monarchy can strip the people of Bahrain of their faith, their identity, or their unbreakable will to achieve true freedom and self-determination.
