Al-Houthi: US Shocked by Yemen’s Military Operations; Bigger Blows Were on Standby
Yemeni Official Declares Red Sea Operations Serve Arab Security and Exposes Cowardice of Arab Regimes
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, asserted that Yemen’s position in the Red Sea is vital to the protection of Arab national security.
“It is the Americans who are fueling the war and militarizing the Red Sea,” Al-Houthi said during an interview with Al-Masirah TV on Sunday evening, emphasizing that the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces serve as a guarantee for Egypt and the Suez Canal.
“Yemen stands with Egypt, and Cairo has every right to full sovereignty over the Suez Canal,” he added.
He explained that the continued American aggression against Yemen is not for anyone else’s sake, but a direct result of Yemeni forces targeting warships in the Red Sea. “U.S. aircraft carriers,” he noted, “have not been in a stable position but rather in a state of anxiety due to Yemeni military tactics that defy conventional enemy doctrines.”
Military Surprise: Yemen's Capabilities Exceeded Expectations
Al-Houthi stressed that the Americans were caught off guard by the scale and precision of Yemeni operations. “Had the battle continued,” he said, “even greater actions would have followed.”
He credited Yemeni forces with shattering both the media image and the long-held prestige of U.S. aircraft carriers.
“To those who downplay Yemen’s stance,” he said, “we say this: you cannot even take a real stand with your words. All you offer are timid statements in the face of aggression and arrogance.” He pointed out that such weak and hesitant positions can never serve the Palestinian cause, and that many nations now recognize Yemen’s stance as deeply connected to Gaza.
Arab Silence and Trump's "Blackmail Tours"
Al-Houthi highlighted a fundamental shift in the rules of engagement and the overall dynamics of the conflict, describing Yemeni operations as unprecedented.
He particularly underscored the significance of successfully targeting moving military vessels—a qualitative leap in tactics and preparation.
He reminded the world that former President Donald Trump had launched a major pressure campaign against Yemen and failed completely—a fact widely acknowledged.
Commenting on the Arab League’s inaction, Al-Houthi declared the body “was buried long ago” and had not taken “a single honorable Arab position—not for Gaza, nor for anyone else.” He described Trump’s visits to Gulf states as “blackmail tours to extract money, not to develop those states,” and reiterated that Yemen expects nothing from Arab regimes stuck in a cycle of defeatism and psychological collapse.
He lamented that despite having numerous tools at their disposal to pressure Israel and save Gaza, Arab states have chosen inaction—even refusing to sever diplomatic ties with the occupying entity. “It is not in the Arabs’ interest,” he said, “to contribute to any so-called solutions aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.”
Faith, Resistance, and the Price of Silence
Al-Houthi praised the role of the Yemeni Armed Forces, stating that they succeeded in pressuring the U.S. itself to request a halt to Yemeni attacks. “If Yemen were to stop supporting Gaza,” he warned, “we would face a punishment from Allah far greater than anything the U.S. or Israel could do to us.”
Responding to the ongoing genocide and massacres in Gaza, Al-Houthi said: “The crimes committed by the Zionist enemy reflect a deeply rooted Jewish mindset,” and criticized Gulf states for sending money to Trump without conditions, when it should have been tied to halting the genocide and opening humanitarian access to Gaza.
Trump’s recent announcement that the U.S. would cease military strikes against Yemen signals a clear retreat in the face of sustained Yemeni pressure in the Red Sea. The decision, brokered through Omani mediation, highlights Washington’s failure to protect Israel or stop Yemen’s support for Gaza.
Initially, Yemen’s military operations targeted only Israeli assets, but once the U.S. entered the conflict in March, American forces became legitimate targets. Intense and coordinated Yemeni strikes eventually forced a U.S. pullback, exposed Israel’s vulnerabilities, and revealed a growing rift in U.S.-Israeli coordination.
Despite the ceasefire with Washington, Revolutionary Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi has made it clear: If the U.S. dares to launch a third round of aggression, Yemen will be fully prepared to confront it head-on. (PW)
