Al-Araby Al-Jadeed: Iran Has Single-Handedly Halted the Zionist Project
A Qatari outlet urges Arab support for Tehran, arguing that Iran alone has blocked the U.S.–Israeli colonial project seeking total dominance over the region.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - In a commentary published by Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, Egyptian writer Wael Qandil examines Iran’s role and power in confronting the Zionist project. He argues that what the United States and the Zionist regime demand from Iran is identical to what they demand from Hamas and the Palestinian resistance: immediate and total disarmament.
If such a demand were fulfilled, the region would be turned into an Israeli “farm,” where the occupation chooses a victim to slaughter each day.
From the outset, the central objective of the U.S.–Zionist project has been to eliminate any possibility of an Arab or regional power capable of obstructing or threatening the occupying regime.
Accordingly, Washington and Tel Aviv have made no secret—since launching their genocidal war on Gaza—that their first goal is to destroy all Arab resistance movements in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iraq, in order to advance toward the ultimate objective: disarming Iran, the greatest remaining obstacle to the Zionist project in the region.
Iran’s Power Is Directed Against Israel, Not the Arabs
The article stresses that Iran is the only actor in the region that has maintained a consistent stance against the Zionist colonial project without retreat.
Contrary to the false claims propagated by Zionists and their supporters, the relationship between Iran and Arab resistance groups is neither fabricated nor artificial, nor is it a hierarchical relationship of master and subordinate.
The resistance movements are not Iranian “proxies.” To suggest that Iran, after the victory of its Islamic Revolution, is an interloper in the Palestinian cause is described as analytically shallow and intellectually naïve.
Portraying every emerging Arab resistance movement as merely an Iranian arm strips resistance of its national and moral essence and reduces it to a mere militia—an affront to history and geography alike.
Iranian power, the article insists, is not an enemy of Arab power. It is the enemy of Zionist power in the region—a regime seeking to subjugate the entire area to its delusions and ambitions.
Iran Alone Has Stopped the U.S.–Israeli Colonial Project
The commentary argues that adopting a so-called “neutral” position toward U.S. and Israeli actions against Iran amounts to surrender to the logic of a Middle Eastern “farm” designed and managed by Israel.
Iran has long been a major civilizational and military force, blocking American and Israeli projects aimed at dominating the region and Arab states.
The author points to the current situation in the West Bank, where Zionists act like farm owners on Palestinian land, confident that no one can restrain them and that no weapon exists to threaten Israel.
This is contrasted with previous years, when settlement aggression sparked Palestinian uprisings in Jerusalem and the West Bank, while Gaza’s missile power provided meaningful deterrence against settler violence and the occupation government.
Today, under a comprehensive U.S.–Israeli conspiracy—enabled by Arab regimes—against the weapons and very principle of resistance, Zionist brutality across Palestine has intensified dramatically.
The article concludes that the region is facing one of the most critical moments in its confrontation with the Zionist project—one that has been halted only by Iran, as a major regional power resisting imperial arrogance.
Just as Palestinian resistance groups continue to fight against the total loss of their cause and what remains of Palestinian land, Iran now stands targeted by renewed U.S.–Israeli savagery aimed at stripping it of its military capabilities.
These conspiracies, the author argues, are driven by Washington’s desire for revenge against Tehran for doing what Arab regimes should have done for Gaza and Palestine—but failed to do. While Iran stands firmly with the Palestinian cause, Arab regimes, the article warns, are committing political suicide through normalization with the Zionist occupiers. (PW)
