Supreme Leader Issues Decree Following Recommendation by IRGC Commander-in-Chief
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Ahmad Vahidi has been appointed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) by decree of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
According to a report by Tasnim News Agency, the appointment was made following a proposal by Mohammad Pakpour and was formally issued by Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Official Announcement and Handover Ceremony
The appointment was announced during an official handover and introduction ceremony attended by senior IRGC commanders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Mohammad Pakpour, Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, referred to the service record of the outgoing Deputy Commander-in-Chief Ali Fadavi, expressing appreciation for his extensive efforts during his tenure.
Pakpour stated that Fadavi had played a key role alongside former IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami and other senior commanders, contributing significantly to the execution of IRGC missions.
Following the leadership change, Ali Fadavi will now serve as Head of the Advisory Council to the IRGC Commander-in-Chief.
Vahidi’s Record of Senior Military and Government Positions

Addressing the ceremony, Vahidi said that the IRGC continues to stand at the peak of its strength and capability.
He noted that recent confrontations once again demonstrated the performance and commitment of the younger generation within the IRGC, describing this as one of the Corps’ major sources of pride.
Vahidi stated that the IRGC possesses a cadre of capable and elite young personnel whose devotion is firmly rooted in faith, expressing confidence that they will achieve victory.
He added that he hopes to serve, even as a humble servant, alongside the IRGC Commander-in-Chief and all members of the Corps.
Concluding his remarks, Vahidi cited a Quranic supplication, asking for divine guidance and steadfastness in his responsibilities.
Text of the Supreme Leader’s Decree
During the ceremony, Mohammad Shirazi, Head of the Military Office of the Supreme Leader, read aloud the full text of the appointment decree signed by Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
The decree states that, in view of Ahmad Vahidi’s commitment, qualifications, and valuable experience, and upon the recommendation of the IRGC Commander-in-Chief, he is hereby appointed as Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The decree emphasizes the expectation that Vahidi will play an active, revolutionary, and jihad-oriented role in:
Enhancing the operational readiness of the IRGC
Advancing the powerful execution of the Corps’ missions
Accelerating efforts to address the spiritual and livelihood needs of IRGC personnel
Strengthening coordination with the General Staff of the Armed Forces, in line with the directives of the IRGC Commander-in-Chief
