Abu Obeida Salutes Hezbollah Fighters, Affirms the Unity of Fronts
The Al-Qassam spokesman praised Hezbollah's resistance in Lebanon and said Israel's efforts to divide the resistance fronts have failed.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The military spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, praised the Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon, commending the heavy losses they have inflicted on the Israeli occupation forces and affirming their continued resistance against the aggression targeting Lebanon, its people, and its sovereignty, describing it as a right and a duty guaranteed by all laws and principles.
In a brief statement issued on Friday, Abu Obeida said that the Israeli occupation is attempting, through the continuation of its crimes and occupation, to compensate for its failures across various fronts, while also seeking to separate the fronts of resistance.
He added that the occupation is futilely trying to achieve these objectives, stressing that throughout more than two and a half years, it has harvested nothing but disappointment and defeat.
Hamas Praises Lebanon’s Resistance Against Israeli Aggression
For his part, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem praised the heroism displayed by the resistance in Lebanon in defending its people and land against the Israeli occupation.
Qassem said in a press statement that confronting the occupation and thwarting its objectives confirms that free peoples will never accept the continuation of occupation.
He stressed that stability in the region will only be achieved through the withdrawal of the occupation from Arab land and an end to its aggression against Arab peoples.
Four Israeli Soldiers Killed in Southern Lebanon Clashes
In the same context, the Operations Room of the Islamic Resistance confirmed on Friday that the Israeli occupation has not adhered to any ceasefire agreement since November 27, 2024, through the developments of April 16, 2026, and up to the outcomes of the recent Iran-US understanding, whose first clause stipulated the end of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
The Operations Room stated that Israel has continued its repeated violations of the ceasefire by targeting civilians, destroying residential buildings and infrastructure, as well as carrying out ground attacks and attempts to infiltrate and seize areas it had failed to reach before the agreement.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army announced the death of four soldiers, including the commander of the 52nd Battalion of the Givati Brigade, during what it described as “difficult and complex” clashes with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon the previous night.
Hebrew media reported that the Adam settlement council, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, announced the death of one of its soldiers from the settlement during the battles. Reports also stated that the slain battalion commander was an armored corps officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel who commanded the 52nd Battalion within the Givati Brigade.
The reports further indicated that 17 Israeli soldiers were wounded in an attack targeting a military force near the town of Kfar Tebnit in southern Lebanon, in addition to the four soldiers who were killed. (PW)
