900,000 Gazans Defy Forced Displacement Amid Brutal Israeli Aggression
Government Media Office Confirms Determination to Remain in Gaza and Northern Areas Despite Brutal Aggression
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Government Media Office confirmed that more than 900,000 Palestinians remain steadfast in Gaza City and its northern areas.
They categorically reject displacement to the south despite the brutality of Israeli bombardment and genocide carried out as part of the crime of permanent “forced displacement,” which contravenes all international laws and conventions.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the office noted that government teams had observed an increase in forced displacement from Gaza City towards the south as a result of the occupation’s crimes since the onset of the forced evacuation. Around 270,000 citizens have been compelled to leave their homes under the weight of the bombardment.
At the same time, the office also documented reverse displacement: more than 22,000 people returned to their original areas inside Gaza City by midday Saturday.
These families had initially moved their furniture and belongings to the south for safekeeping but later returned to their city due to the complete absence of even the most basic necessities of life in the south.
Illusion of “Safe Zones” Exposed
The statement pointed out that the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis and Rafah, which currently hosts around one million people and is falsely promoted by the occupation as “humanitarian and safe zones,” has itself been subjected to more than 110 airstrikes and repeated shelling.
These attacks have left over 2,000 martyrs in successive massacres carried out by the Israeli army within Al-Mawasi itself.
It further stressed that these areas entirely lack basic living requirements. There are no hospitals, no infrastructure, and no essential services such as water, food, shelter, electricity, or education, making life there nearly impossible.
The office also warned that the areas designated by the occupation in its maps as “shelter zones” comprise no more than 12% of the total area of the Gaza Strip.
Yet Israel seeks to cram more than 1.7 million people into this small space, as part of a plan to create “concentration camps” under a systematic policy of forced displacement.
The ultimate goal is to empty northern Gaza and Gaza City of their residents — a full-fledged war crime and crime against humanity that violates both international law and international humanitarian law.
Condemnation of Genocide and Call for Accountability
The Government Media Office strongly condemned the continuation of genocide and forced displacement being carried out by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian civilians.
It also denounced the shameful silence of the international community and its failure to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities in the face of these crimes.
The statement held the Israeli occupation and its strategic ally, the United States administration, as well as the countries complicit in genocide, fully responsible for the ongoing crimes and their international legal consequences.
It further called on the international community, the United Nations, and international courts and legal institutions to take concrete and serious action to stop these crimes, prosecute the leaders of the occupation before the competent courts, and guarantee the protection of civilians along with their right to remain on their land in security and dignity.
