31 Killed, Dozens Injured in Series of Israeli Airstrikes on the Gaza Strip
At least 31 Palestinians were killed and many injured as Israeli airstrikes hit Gaza, amid continued ceasefire violations now entering their 112th consecutive day.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - A number of civilians were killed and others injured early Saturday in a series of Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, as the occupation’s violations of the ceasefire continued for the 112th consecutive day.
Medical sources confirmed that the death toll since dawn on Saturday has risen to at least 31 martyrs as a result of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip.
In the latest development, citizen Kamal Khader was killed and others were injured after occupation forces targeted a group of civilians on Old Gaza Street in Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip, earlier this afternoon.
Massacre at Sheikh Radwan Police Station
Our correspondent reported that occupation forces committed a new massacre after warplanes targeted the Sheikh Radwan police station in northwestern Gaza City earlier today.
The attack resulted in 15 martyrs, including four female police officers, a number of injured, and three people still missing.
The Ministry of Interior and National Security confirmed that Israeli warplanes struck the Sheikh Radwan police station west of Gaza City, leading to the killing and injury of several police officers and personnel.
In a statement, the police said that ambulance and rescue crews are evacuating the martyrs and wounded following the Israeli airstrike on the police station.
The statement added that the attack resulted in the killing of police officers and personnel, as well as civilians who were present inside the station at the time of the strike due to ongoing legal or administrative matters.
It also confirmed that a number of people remain missing under the rubble of the destroyed building.
Residential Areas and Shelters Targeted
In another development, Israeli warplanes bombed a house belonging to the Rizq family near Al-Daour Tower in the Al-Nasr neighborhood west of Gaza City.
Israeli aircraft also struck a house in the Al-Suweidi area of Gaza City, killing three people and injuring several others.
Medical sources reported that seven people were killed and others injured after an Israeli strike targeted a tent sheltering members of the Abu Hadaid family in the Asdaa area northwest of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The martyrs were identified as: Rabhi Hammad Mohammed Abu Hadaid (the grandfather), his children Mohammed, Hazem, and Hijer, and his grandchildren Lia Mohammed Rabhi Abu Hadaid, Sham Hazem Rabhi Abu Hadaid, and Jibril Hazem Rabhi Abu Hadaid.
The same sources reported that five civilians, including two children and a woman, were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential apartment near Al-Abbas intersection west of Gaza City.
Earlier today, Israeli warplanes also bombed the Ghaith displacement camp in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis after ordering its evacuation.
Five civilians were injured when occupation forces shelled an apartment near the Jabalia parking area east of Gaza City.
Others were injured when an apartment near Al-Jalaa Street in central Gaza City was targeted.
Israeli warplanes also carried out a new airstrike targeting the eastern areas of Gaza’s central governorate.
Widespread Destruction and Rising Overall Toll
Dozens of displacement tents were damaged in Asdaa City shelter areas following Israeli shelling that targeted a tent housing displaced members of the Abu Hadaid family at dawn, killing seven people.
The bombardment also struck the soup kitchen at Ghaith displacement camp, causing widespread destruction and damage to the tents of dozens of families in the camp.
Hudhaifa Lafi, media official in Asdaa City, confirmed that initial damage estimates indicate around 130 tents suffered either complete destruction or severe damage, including the loss of blankets and clothing.
He announced that Ghaith camp was heavily damaged, noting that the attack destroyed the camp’s soup kitchen and damaged the school, medical clinic, and numerous displacement tents.
Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect, occupation forces have killed 524 Palestinians and injured 1,360 others due to repeated violations.
Since the start of the genocidal war on October 7, 2023, occupation forces have killed more than 71,769 Palestinians and wounded over 171,483 others.
The war has also caused massive destruction, affecting nearly 90 percent of civilian infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at approximately $70 billion.(PW)
