254 Martyred, Over 1,150 Wounded in Israeli Mass Bombardment Targeting Lebanon
Coordinated Israeli airstrikes devastate Beirut and beyond, killing over 250 civilians, violating ceasefire terms, and triggering warnings of escalation.
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM — A massive wave of Israeli airstrikes has killed at least 254 people and wounded more than 1,150 others across Lebanon, in one of the deadliest escalations since the start of the offensive.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the bombardment targeted multiple regions simultaneously, including Beirut, its southern suburbs, southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and Mount Lebanon. Approximately 150 airstrikes were carried out within just two hours, underscoring the scale and intensity of the attack.
Residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure bore the brunt of the bombardment, as densely populated areas were repeatedly struck.
Civilian Toll Mounts Across Regions
The Lebanese Civil Defense confirmed that 254 people were martyred and 1,165 others injured in Wednesday’s attacks.
In Beirut alone, 92 people were martyred and 742 wounded, while the southern suburb recorded 61 martyrs and 200 injuries.
In the Baalbek and Hermel regions, 18 and 9 people were martyred respectively, with dozens more injured.
Other regions also suffered heavily:
Nabatieh: 28 martyrs, 59 wounded
Alay: 17 martyrs, 6 wounded
Saida: 12 martyrs, 56 wounded
Tyre: 17 martyrs, 68 wounded
Shortly after midnight on Thursday, an Israeli warplane launched another violent airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs, continuing the wave of attacks on heavily populated areas and further increasing casualties.
Medical teams and emergency services are struggling to cope, as hospitals face mounting pressure amid the ongoing bombardment.
Ceasefire Violated as Bombardment Continues
The attacks came despite earlier announcements of an immediate ceasefire agreement expected to include Lebanon.
However, the Israeli occupation violated the ceasefire and continued its aggression, carrying out widespread bombardments amounting to massacres against civilians.
Homes, buildings, and infrastructure were deliberately targeted, contributing to a sharp rise in casualties and widespread destruction. The continued strikes reflect a clear violation of ceasefire efforts and indicate a deliberate escalation policy.
Hezbollah Condemns Massacres, Vows Response
Hezbollah condemned the Israeli attacks, stressing that the blood of the victims “will not be in vain.”
“With its blind hatred, habitual criminality, and boundless brutality—now an entrenched characteristic of its nature—the Israeli enemy today carried out a series of roaming massacres against safe civilian populations,” the movement stated.
The resistance affirmed that these crimes will not go unanswered, reiterating its commitment to defending Lebanon and confronting ongoing aggression.
Lebanese Officials Warn Against Restricting Resistance
Lebanese political voices warned against attempts to restrict the role of the resistance, emphasizing that preventing it from defending the country would violate constitutional principles.
Lebanese MP Elias Jradi told Al Mayadeen that preventing people from defending themselves “is a crime against humanity.”
He held the silent international community responsible for enabling Israeli aggression and criticized what he described as “suspicious official Lebanese silence.”
“We will hold the current authority accountable for preventing resistance against the enemy,” he said, adding that the government had violated the constitution by restricting resistance.
“We will remain the last stronghold of humanity, and we will prevail over this evil,” Jradi concluded.
Ghalibaf: Ceasefire Framework Already Breached
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf strongly criticized the United States for violating key elements of Iran’s 10-point proposal—also known as the Agreed Framework—before negotiations had even begun.
He stated that Tehran’s mistrust toward Washington stems from repeated violations of commitments, a pattern he said has once again been confirmed.
Ghalibaf identified three major breaches:
Ceasefire in Lebanon: The first clause called for an immediate ceasefire in all regions, including Lebanon, a commitment that has not been honored.
Violation of Iranian Airspace: An intruding drone entered Iranian airspace and was destroyed in Lar, Fars Province, in clear violation of the agreement.
Right to Nuclear Enrichment: Iran’s right to enrichment, included in the sixth clause, has been denied.
IRGC Warns: Any Attack on Hezbollah Is an Attack on Iran
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps condemned the Israeli aggression, stating that civilians—including women and children—are being deliberately targeted.
“We issue a severe warning to America, the violator of agreements, and its Israeli executioner partner: if the attacks on dear Lebanon do not stop immediately, we will fulfill our duty and deliver a response that will make the evil aggressors regret their actions.”
Brigadier General Majid Mousavi, commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, declared:
“Any attack on the proud Hezbollah is an attack on Iran.”
He added that the battlefield is preparing for “a crushing response to the monstrous crimes of the Israeli entity.”
Calls are growing for legal and political action as internal and external pressures attempt to weaken Lebanon’s defensive capabilities.
The continued Israeli aggression, coupled with the rising number of martyrs, signals a rapidly deteriorating situation and a potential shift toward a wider regional confrontation. (PW)
