The first Counselor of the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the UN stressed that the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US prevent the sustainable development in the developing countries.

'The illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US and the passivity of the international community towards them have turned the sustainable development into a decorative and absurd slogan,' Ali Hajilari said addressing the High-Level Political Forum of the UN Economic and Social Council in New York.

Hajilari called for immediate and effective action by the international community to end illegal and illegitimate sanctions against developing countries
