Iran says it will never forget how the US’s outgoing regime acted as a “cruel collaborator” of the new coronavirus by retaining its illegal and unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic at a time when the country is battling the hugely deadly phenomenon. “Corona's proven deadly, vicious & brutal everywhere, but it's worse in Iran as it has a cruel collaborator: US regime,” the ministry tweeted on Monday.

Corona's proven deadly, vicious & brutal everywhere, but it's worse in Iran as it has a cruel collaborator: US regime.
US has elevated max pressure to Health Terrorism & targeted Iranian ppl w/ inhuman sanx while they're fighting the pandemic.

We'll overcome but NEVER forget.

The current US administration returned the sanctions that the previous regime had lifted.

Washington took the move after leaving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a historic nuclear agreement that has mandated the sanction relief.

US President Donald Trump has been trying to justify the campaign under its signature Iran policy of “maximum pressure.” His administration has also snubbed an International Court of Justice order on it to suspend coercive economic measures against food and medicine as well as other vital items such as plane parts.

Washington, meanwhile, keeps alleging that foodstuffs and medicinal products are exempt from the inhumane bans, a claim that Tehran strongly rejects.

“US has elevated max pressure to Health Terrorism & targeted Iranian people with inhuman sanctions while they're fighting the pandemic,” the Foreign Ministry said.

So far, the virus that can lead to acute and potentially deadly respiratory malfunction has infected more than 568,500 people in Iran, including 32,616, who have died from it.

The ministry expressed certainty, however, that the Islamic Republic will eventually “overcome” the virus, but will “NEVER forget” US attempts at compounding the situation for Iranians
