TEHRAN, January 21 (MNA) – An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 was detected at sea near the Philippines on Thursday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.The quake occurred at a depth of 122 km, the EMSC added, Reuters reported. It had initially reported a magnitude of 7.2. The quake struck occurred 213 km from the town of Pondaguitan on the island of Mindanao. So far no further information has been released on the possible damage or casualties of the event and the predictions of a sunami. MNA/5127549
