Press TV, San Giorgio   The ambassadors of Palestine and Lebanon to Italy have attended a two-day international event held in the small town of San Giorgio del Sannio, about 80 kilometers east of Naples. The initiative comprised a conference on West Asia with a special focus on Palestine and the Israeli normalization deals with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain.

The top diplomats warned that the future of West Asia looks increasingly uncertain and unstable.

During the conference, speakers denounced US-sponsored accords – known as ‘normalization deals’ – recently signed by Israel, the UAE and Bahrain.

They argued the deals will only deepen regional divisions instead of mitigating them.

The conference was also attended by Raffaele Mauriello, an Italian academic with Tehran’s Allameh Tabataba’i University. Mauriello commented on the ‘imperialistic posture’ held by certain countries in West Asia.

The international event wrapped up on Sunday with an award ceremony for journalism and literature, where both ambassadors were given a prize for their efforts for peace in West Asia
