Less than one hour after the photo of the head of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea was was raised in Tripoli, the locals removed it, rejecting the attempts to ameliorate the image of the murderer of the former prime minister, Rashid Karami.

Tripoli residents also denounced the sectarian practices of the Lebanese Forces, condemning the former minister Ashraf Rifi's visit to Geagea residence in Maarab.

The explosion also caused much destruction in the capital and its suburbs
